Part-Time Data & Operations Analyst - Excel/SQL, Ongoing (Not a VA Role)

DATA & OPERATIONS ANALYST - Part-Time, Ongoing We're a SaaS company. We need someone who can be handed a messy question about our data and come back with an answer - not someone who needs the question broken into steps first. This is not a VA or executive assistant role. No calendar, no inbox, no scheduling. Please don't apply if that's the work you're looking for. WHAT THE WORK LOOKS LIKE - Take our operational and financial data and work out what it's actually telling us - Reconcile figures across systems and find out why they disagree - Build and maintain the checks that catch bad data before it reaches a report - Model scenarios: if we change X, what happens to Y, and what would have to be true for it to be worth doing - Investigate numbers that look wrong, and be right about why - Automate the repetitive parts so they stop eating hours WHO THIS IS FOR - You think in numbers and logic. Ratios, rates and averages are things you interrogate, not just calculate. - You can hold a complicated scenario in your head and reason through it without a template - You work from a problem, not a task list. Given an ambiguous question, you scope it yourself and ask one good clarifying question rather than five vague ones. - You're comfortable being the person who says "this number is wrong, and here is why" - Strong Excel or Google Sheets. SQL, Power BI, Python or similar is a real advantage. - Clear written English - you'll be explaining your reasoning, not just sending files BACKGROUND WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Data analyst, business analyst, financial analyst, BI, supply chain or inventory planning, or similar - We would rather hire an analyst who has never done ops support than someone whose experience is data entry or VA work NICE TO HAVE (not required) - Travel or airline industry experience - Automation tools (Apps Script, Power Query, Zapier, Make) HOW IT WORKS - Starting 10-15 hours/week, ongoing, scaling with the role - Direct communication with the founder - Europe or UK working hours preferred - Starts as support work and grows into owning our data integrity IMPORTANT: We read every application manually.
