Part-Time Video Editor — Short Form and Long Form Social Media Content (Home Services / Real Estate)

Porch Light Property Inspection and Porch Light Home Maintenance are two locally owned home services businesses based inOregon. We are growing our social media presence across Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube and need a skilled video editor to help us turn our raw field footage into polished, engaging content that reflects our brand. What We Are Looking For We are looking for a part-time video editor for ongoing weekly or monthly work. We provide all raw footage — your job is to edit it into clean, professional content optimized for each platform. What You Will Be Editing Short form videos for Instagram Reels and Facebook — typically 30 to 90 seconds. Snappy, engaging, with on-brand text overlays and transitions. Long form videos for YouTube and Facebook — field walkthroughs, educational content, and behind the scenes footage. Typically 3 to 10 minutes. Occasional branded graphics, lower thirds, and intro or outro sequences consistent with our visual identity. Our Brand Professional, warm and local. We are not a corporate brand — we are a small team that takes pride in our work and our community. The editing style should feel authentic, clean and credible. Requirements Demonstrated experience editing short form and long form social media video content. Portfolio or samples of previous work are required — please include links or attachments in your proposal. Proficiency in a professional editing platforms such as CapCut Pro. Understanding of aspect ratios, caption standards and optimization for Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Ability to add captions, text overlays, music and sound design to raw footage. Reliable turnaround — we need edited content delivered on a consistent schedule. Strong communication and ability to take direction on tone and style. Nice to Have Experience editing content for home services, real estate or trades businesses. Familiarity with branding consistency across multiple platforms. Engagement This is a part-time ongoing role. Volume will vary week to week but we anticipate a consistent flow of raw footage as we build out our content library. We are looking for someone to grow with us long term.
