Payroll Specialist / HR Assistant (U.S. Payroll)

ABOUT US We are a growing behavioral health organization supporting multiple clinics across the United States. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Payroll & HR Assistant to join our team. This position will initially focus almost entirely on payroll administration. As you become familiar with our processes, you'll have the opportunity to expand into Human Resources responsibilities and grow with our organization. If you enjoy organized work, following established procedures, and ensuring every detail is accurate, we'd love to hear from you. WHAT YOU WILL DO Initially, your responsibilities will include: Preparing payroll information for multiple U.S. companies Reviewing timesheets for completeness and accuracy Auditing payroll data and identifying discrepancies Entering payroll information into payroll systems Tracking payroll changes, deductions, and adjustments Maintaining payroll records and documentation Assisting with payroll reporting and reconciliations Communicating professionally regarding payroll questions Maintaining strict confidentiality of employee information Following documented payroll procedures accurately and consistently As the role grows, you may also assist with: Employee onboarding and offboarding HR documentation and personnel files Benefits administration Compliance General HR administrative support QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 1-3 years of U.S. payroll experience Excellent written and verbal English Strong attention to detail Ability to follow written procedures accurately High level of organization and time management Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail) Reliable internet connection and a quiet work environment PREFERRED: Experience with U.S. HR administration Experience with Gusto Multi-state payroll experience Experience supporting multiple companies or business entities WHO YOU ARE You are someone who - Enjoys working with detailed processes Takes pride in accuracy Reads instructions carefully before beginning work Asks thoughtful questions when something is unclear Can manage confidential information professionally Is dependable, responsive, and accountable Wants to grow into a broader HR role over time HOURS Remote position Must have at least 3-4 hours of overlap with U.S. Eastern Time business hours Approximately 40-60 hours per month, depending on experience and workload TO APPLY Please include the following in your proposal - A brief summary of your U.S. payroll experience.
