Summary

# Performance Creative Video Editor — Meta Ads + AI We’re a **men’s dating and relationship advice company** looking for a highly creative video editor to help us create short-form direct-response ads for Facebook and Instagram. **This is NOT just a traditional video editing position.** We are hiring for **creative instinct, visual ideas, and the ability to use AI to make ads more engaging.** ### IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING **I will only review applicants who send me a specific video/ad that YOU personally created or edited that demonstrates your creativity.** Do not just send me a link to your general portfolio or showreel. Pick **one specific video**, send me the direct link, and briefly tell me: * What you were responsible for * What creative ideas in the video came from you * Why you chose that particular example If you don't include this, **your application will not be reviewed.** ## About the Ads We sell **men's dating and relationship information products**, not physical products. That's an important distinction. Creating an ad for a physical product is often straightforward visually. You can show the product, demonstrate it, unbox it, show someone using it, show a before-and-after, etc. **Our product is information.** Our scripts are about things like attraction, dating, psychology, relationships, communication, curiosity, emotional investment, and human behavior. There often isn't an obvious visual to put on the screen. That's where **your creativity comes in.** If the script says: *"She starts wondering why you're no longer chasing her…"* We don't want an editor who automatically drops in generic stock footage of a woman looking at her phone. We want someone who thinks: **"How could I make this idea interesting to WATCH?"** Maybe that's an AI-generated UGC scene. Maybe it's a funny or unusual visual. Maybe it's a strange pattern interrupt. Maybe it's a reaction shot, visual metaphor, headline, animation, AI character, cinematic sequence, sound-design moment, or something completely unexpected. **We want someone who brings ideas to the edit — not someone who waits for us to tell them exactly which clip to put where.** ## What You'll Be Doing You'll take scripts, voiceovers, talking-head footage, raw clips, and creative concepts and turn them into **scroll-stopping Meta ads designed to hold attention and generate sales.** That could include: * Editing talking-head and voiceover ads * Creating strong visual hooks for the first few seconds * Finding creative ways to visualize abstract ideas * Generating AI video clips and images * Creating believable AI-generated UGC * Creating dating/relationship scenarios with AI * Using B-roll creatively rather than simply filling space * Adding captions, headlines, graphics, sound effects and music * Changing pacing or visuals when an ad begins to feel repetitive * Experimenting with new formats and editing styles * Coming up with visual concepts we haven't thought of ## AI Is an Important Part of This Role We're actively incorporating AI into our advertising. You should either already be comfortable with AI creative tools or be the type of person who is constantly experimenting with them. That might include tools like: **Veo, Kling, Runway, Sora, Grok, Midjourney, Nano Banana** and whatever new tools emerge that can help us create better ads. We're especially interested in someone who knows how to use AI to create: * Realistic UGC-style footage * Characters and reaction shots * Dating and relationship scenarios * Pattern-interrupt clips * B-roll that would otherwise be difficult to film * Strange, funny, interesting or unexpected visuals The exact tools matter less than your ability to **get good creative results from them.** ## What We're Really Looking For The ideal person watches a section of an ad and thinks: **"This is getting boring. I can make this more interesting."** And then actually comes up with something. You understand that **performance ads don't need to look like commercials.** Sometimes a raw iPhone-looking clip will outperform beautiful cinematography. Sometimes something slightly strange will outperform something polished. Sometimes an intentionally simple visual will outperform an elaborate edit. The objective is: **GET THEIR ATTENTION → KEEP THEIR ATTENTION → HELP SELL THE IDEA.** We're looking for an editor who understands that. ## Examples of Our Current Ads Please watch these before applying: **Example 1:** https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/yjsnshjfr211eo2reb398/30-day-with-headline-desire-switch.mp4?rlkey=5wpmxinw22tgxnmfu92fx1j4f&dl=0 **Example 2:**https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/y57ha9kw1qaaufe1u2nuu/updated-august-ugcv1-friendly-to-flirty.mp4?rlkey=xwtzbvtf9dzdaqze5c6nzugcs&dl=0 These examples are meant to show you our general content, market, pacing and style. **We are NOT looking for someone to simply copy these videos.** We want someone who can take what we're already doing and **bring new ideas to it** — especially through AI, UGC, visual storytelling, pattern interrupts and creative editing. ## Experience That Is Especially Valuable Experience creating performance ads for any of the following is a major plus: * Information products * Dating or relationship advice * Coaching * Education * Personal development * Direct-response marketing * Courses or digital products If most of your experience is editing physical-product ecommerce ads, that's okay — **but your example needs to demonstrate that you can creatively sell an IDEA, not just make a physical product look good.** ## How to Apply Please send: 1. A brief introduction. 2. The AI video/image tools you currently use. 3. Any experience you have with Meta/direct-response advertising. 4. A link to your portfolio if you have one. ### AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: **Send ONE specific ad/video that YOU personally worked on that best demonstrates your creative ability.** Tell me: **What did you personally do on this video?** **Which creative ideas were yours?** **Why does this video demonstrate what you could bring to our ads?** **Applications that only send a portfolio/showreel without answering this will not be reviewed.** I'm much more interested in seeing **one video that proves you can think creatively** than seeing 50 beautifully edited videos that all look the same.
