Photoshop Frequency Separation Tracked Onto Video (After Effects + Mocha Pro or Lockdown 3)

Summary

I’m a men’s hair specialist. I shoot short before/after clips of fades and custom hair systems for my studio. I already retouch stills in Photoshop using frequency separation and I’m fast at it. What I need is to do that same work on video — retouch once, then track it back onto the moving footage so it holds perfectly across the entire clip. I am not looking for a generic After Effects course. I need a recorded, step-by-step tutorial built around this exact workflow, filmed on my own footage. What I need to fix in my clips • Fade patchiness — individual darker spots inside the blend that need lightening locally and blending into their surroundings. Treating the fade as one big region does not work; this has to be patch by patch. • Hairline imperfections • Hair system artifacts — stray hairs, visible glue, excess poly skin at the edges Scope Record a screen-capture tutorial with clear voiceover, showing the complete workflow start to finish: 1. Project setup in After Effects 2. Tracking the work area with Mocha Pro (PowerMesh) or Lockdown 3 — including how to diagnose and fix a track that slips 3. Generating the stabilized / unwarped plate 4. Taking that frame into Photoshop — frequency separation plus clone and heal work, done patch by patch 5. Bringing the retouched frame back and warping it onto the moving footage 6. Edge masking, feathering, and grain matching so the patch is invisible 7. Render and export settings If the Mocha Remove Module (or an equivalent) can handle some of this without a Photoshop trip, show me that too — I want the fastest route that still meets the quality bar below. The quality bar — this is the whole point The result must be undetectable. Specifically: • No flicker or shimmer on the patched area • No drift or sliding as the head moves • No visible patch edge, seam, or halo • Hair strands stay crisp — no smearing, no mushy texture • It must not read as “filtered” If the method can’t survive a full-resolution pause on any frame of the clip, it isn’t what I’m looking for. Reference — the result I’m after • https://www.instagram.com/reel/DM-nMTYI_j7/?igsh=c2R5bjh5cmIyNDNk • https://www.instagram.com/reel/DOER96yiJ-3/?igsh=NnpvNnc5MXllZGx6 • https://www.instagram.com/reel/DQRBUifCLUo/?igsh=MWJ4a2xidmwwZDliYw== What I’ll provide • Raw clips from my studio — 4 to 8 seconds, slow controlled motion, side and front angles • My current Photoshop frequency separation process, if that’s useful to you Deliverables • Screen recording with clear voiceover, roughly 45–90 minutes • Worked on my supplied footage, not stock or a stand-in face • The After Effects project file, plus any presets, macros, or templates you build along the way • A one-page written step summary I can keep at my desk • Notes on how I should shoot future clips to make tracking easier You’re a good fit if • You do beauty, cosmetic, or cleanup work in After Effects professionally • You’re fluent in Mocha Pro (PowerMesh) and/or Lockdown 3 • You can teach someone who is strong in Photoshop but new to After Effects • You understand that fine hair detail is the hardest part of this and have solved it before To apply Please don’t send a generic portfolio. Tell me: 1. Which tool you’d use for this job, and why 2. How you’d handle the soft hair edge at the hairline specifically 3. One example of similar cleanup or beauty work you’ve done
