Placer Gold Geologist

We are seeking an experienced Gold Mine Geologist to support the restart and ongoing development of our placer gold mining operation in Southern Arizona. This is not a traditional five-day-per-week position. We are seeking an experienced professional who can work collaboratively with our Mine Superintendent and management team at key stages of development and operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong practical mining and economic geology experience and be comfortable independently reviewing existing geological information, evaluating prior work, and providing actionable recommendations as the project advances toward production. Key Responsibilities Review and independently evaluate previous geological reports, findings, sampling data, and conclusions Validate prior geological work and identify areas requiring additional investigation or confirmation Work closely with the Mine Superintendent on geological considerations affecting mine planning and operations Advise management regarding sampling, testing, mineralization, resource potential, and areas of geological interest Recommend additional geological work, sampling, mapping, or testing when warranted Conduct onsite evaluations as needed Assist in developing practical geological procedures and documentation for ongoing operations Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to the superintendent and management team Help ensure geological decisions are supported by reliable data and sound professional judgment Preferred Qualifications Degree in Geology and/or Geological Engineering 10+ years of professional geology experience, preferably involving mining or mineral exploration Experience with placer gold, precious metals, or surface mining strongly preferred Demonstrated ability to evaluate and interpret existing geological reports and data Experience with sampling programs, geological mapping, mineral evaluation, and/or resource assessment Strong independent judgment and ability to provide objective professional recommendations Arizona/Southwestern U.S. mining experience is a plus Professional Geologist (PG) credentials are a plus, but may not be required depending on experience Living in Arizona - preferred, or be able to travel to be on site as requested Why This Opportunity This is an opportunity to become involved at an important stage of a developing gold mining operation without committing to a traditional full-time schedule. The successful consultant will have the opportunity to work directly with mine leadership and provide geological expertise that can meaningfully influence the project's development and operating strategy.
