Sr. Power BI Developer

Senior BI Engineer – Contract to Hire We are looking for a highly skilled Senior BI Engineer with 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, data engineering, and analytics. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and SQL, with hands-on experience in designing scalable data models, building enterprise dashboards, and developing modern data solutions. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards. • Develop and manage end-to-end BI solutions using Microsoft Fabric. • Build and optimize Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake, and Data Factory solutions. • Design efficient data models, semantic models, and reusable datasets. • Develop advanced DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and optimized SQL queries. • Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for data integration from multiple sources. • Optimize Power BI reports, datasets, and queries for performance and scalability. • Implement Row-Level Security (RLS), workspace governance, and deployment best practices. • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights. • Ensure data quality, governance, security, and documentation. • Mentor junior BI developers and promote BI best practices. Required Skills • 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Data Engineering. • Strong expertise in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. • Advanced knowledge of SQL, DAX, and Power Query (M). • Hands-on experience with Data Modeling, Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and Semantic Models. • Experience with OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, and Dataflows Gen2. • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data integration. • Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and Azure SQL Database. • Experience implementing Power BI Service, Gateways, and Row-Level Security (RLS). • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Preferred Skills • PySpark and Apache Spark. • Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2). • KQL (Kusto Query Language). • Microsoft Copilot for Power BI. • Experience with AI-powered analytics using Microsoft Fabric. • Git and CI/CD pipelines. • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
