Summary

The conscious media video podcast "Convos About Conscious Media with Kia", which is at the intersection of media, personal growth, and spirituality, is looking for an ongoing video editor. About the Show Convos About Conscious Media with Kia, aka “Convos,” is a conscious media (media that creates awareness and aims to have a positive impact) video podcast exploring the intersection of media, personal growth and potential, and spirituality. Our audiences are: (1) highly educated, predominantly female, values-driven adults who come to us to discover media that aligns with their values, and (2) filmmakers and stakeholders in the entertainment industry who create conscious media. We launched Episode 1 in May 2026. We are looking for an ongoing video editing partner to help every episode look and feel its best. The Role We are looking for a skilled, reliable video editor who is familiar with Premiere Pro to cut our full podcast episodes and a number of simple social clips from each one. This is an execution role, not an editorial-direction role. You are not deciding what stays in or comes out of the conversation, that is the host/producer’s call, and it comes to you already marked. Your job is to take the raw multicam recording and turn it into a polished, warm, professional episode that makes the host and guest look and sound their best. Above all, editing Convos is caretaking. You are protecting two people’s dignity and making a real conversation feel effortless. We already have a premier pro template from our last few episodes as a starting off point. What Editing Convos Means Three jobs, stacked on top of clean technical work: 1. Elevate • Only cut to the host when she is looking at camera and present. Never cut to her on her notes or looking away, it breaks rapport with the guest. • If a shot of the host is needed and she is looking away at that moment, find another shot where she is at camera. • Help her questions feel coherent and calm, never nervous or searching. 2. Protect, and content is the host/producer’s call • Do NOT remove anything for content or “protection” on your own judgment, even if a guest says something surprising or shocking. It stays unless the host/producer has marked it out. • All content cuts come only from the host/producer’s tracked-changes transcript: removed text is out, everything else stays. This includes any story detours she has marked. Default is minimal to no content editing. 3. Audio baseline • Even out the audio levels across the episode. If something cannot be restored, flag it so we can bring in an audio specialist. The Work, Per Episode • A full edited episode, cut in our existing Adobe Premiere Pro templates. • A cold open: open on a strong hook of about 30 seconds plus music, then intro, then title card, then the episode, then the end card. Trim the stiff starts and the hellos. • Often no B-roll. • Simple social clips: an in-point and an out-point from the finished edit, with a title card on the front and a call-to-action card on the back. No re-editing. • Delivery of the final video plus all project files (Premiere, and any others) and assets. How It Works We hand you everything you need: the raw Riverside recording, a tracked-changes transcript showing exactly what stays and what comes out, our Premiere templates, the title and CTA template card and text, and short per-episode notes (for example, “zoom in here, my frame was too wide”). You return the edited episode and clips, and the project files on request. What Is NOT This Role • The host/producer will give you each episode with ideas of suggested cuts, however collaboration is welcome. Surprising or provocative guest moments are kept unless marked out. • Re-editing or re-cutting social clips. Clips are simple trims with a title card and a CTA card. • Claiming ownership of any work product. All footage, edits, project files, and creative work produced under this contract is work-for-hire and the property of Conscious Media Visionaries, LLC. Required Skills and Experience • Strong Adobe Premiere Pro proficiency, including the ability to start from an existing template system rather than building your own from scratch. • Proven experience editing interview or podcast video. • Solid audio editing: leveling, cleanup. • Captioning/subtitle experience. • Strong English, enough to follow nuanced editorial notes precisely • Reliability and clear turnaround. Episodes go out on a schedule and we need a partner we can count on. • Comfort producing simple card-topped clips from provided in/out points. Preferred • Familiarity with Riverside.fm. • Genuine interest in conscious media, wellness, spirituality, or personal growth in order to understand what resonates with this audience. • An eye for pacing and warmth: making a real conversation feel alive without over-editing it.
