Premium beauty & wellness packaging designer

we’re looking for an experienced packaging designer to refine and translate an existing brand direction into a polished, premium product box for Mayen, a filtered showerhead designed for hard water, with a strong focus on skin and hair benefits. the brand direction is already substantially developed, including color ideas, typography direction, visual references, copy and two main logo directions. the goal is not to start from scratch, but to work intelligently with what already exists, while using your professional judgment to identify where changes or refinements are needed. the main challenge is to create a cohesive visual system for the packaging: harmonious color combinations, precise typography, strong hierarchy, appropriate spacing and an overall visual mood that feels premium, contemporary, desirable and credible. the primary audience is women in the us, mainly ages 25–35, so the packaging should feel relevant to the modern beauty and wellness market rather than technical, medical or traditionally “luxury”. some logo refinement may be required as part of the process, but we are not looking for a full rebrand unless you strongly recommend a different direction based on your expertise. we value designers who can not only execute, but also explain why certain visual decisions will work better for the product, category and target audience. deliverables • refined packaging design for one product box • application of the design to the manufacturer’s dieline • refinement of the selected logo direction where needed • final color system for the packaging • typography selection and hierarchy • layout and information hierarchy across all box panels • editable adobe illustrator source file • print-ready pdf • proper cmyk, bleed and safe areas • at least 2 revision rounds • at least one realistic packaging mockup aesthetic direction clean, contemporary, elevated and beauty-led. the result should feel appropriate for a modern us beauty/wellness consumer, with strong visual restraint but enough character to feel distinctive. we are looking for thoughtful, editorial packaging rather than generic luxury cues such as excessive gold, marble, ornamental serif typography or a traditional spa aesthetic. what we need from the designer • strong packaging portfolio, preferably beauty, skincare, wellness or premium consumer products • excellent typography and layout skills • strong understanding of color harmony • ability to refine an existing visual direction rather than automatically redesigning everything • confidence giving professional creative feedback when something in the current direction should be changed • experience preparing production-ready files screening question 1 please share 2–3 packaging projects from your portfolio that are closest to the aesthetic and audience described above. screening question 2 when working with an existing brand direction, how do you decide what should be preserved and what should be refined or changed? screening question 3 do you have experience preparing packaging directly on a manufacturer’s dieline and delivering production-ready adobe illustrator and pdf files? screening question 4 based on this scope, what would your fixed price be and how many revision rounds would it include?
