3D Environment Artist / Level Designer Needed (Low-Poly Open World Similar to Slow Roads) Project Overview I am developing a browser-based multiplayer pigeon racing game and I'm looking for an experienced 3D Environment Artist who can build a beautiful, optimized world using low-poly assets. The visual style should be inspired by Slow Roads. I am not looking to copy the game, but I want a similar philosophy: Large open landscapes Relaxing scenery Excellent performance Low-poly assets that still look beautiful Smart optimization for WebGL/browser performance What I Need I need someone who can create an immersive environment consisting of: Rolling hills Mountains Valleys Forests Rivers Lakes Dirt roads Small towns Farms Fields Trees Bushes Rocks Bridges Windmills Power lines Barns Country houses Rural scenery The world should feel alive and natural while remaining lightweight enough for smooth browser performance. Performance Requirements Optimization is extremely important. The environment should be built using techniques such as: Low-poly models Texture atlases where appropriate Efficient LODs Instanced vegetation Optimized meshes Minimal draw calls Assets suitable for WebGL / Three.js I expect the environment to run smoothly on average consumer hardware. Seasonal System The world should support multiple seasons without rebuilding the environment. The terrain and assets should remain the same while materials and textures can change to represent: Spring Summer Autumn Winter For example: Grass changes color. Trees change leaves. Snow appears during winter. Lighting and atmosphere change naturally. The goal is to achieve seasonal variety through materials and shaders rather than creating four completely different maps. Style I prefer a clean, stylized look rather than photorealism. Examples of qualities I like: Calm atmosphere Natural colors Pleasant lighting Long visibility distances Simple but attractive scenery A world that feels believable without excessive detail Deliverables Please include: Complete optimized environment Organized project files Source assets Proper hierarchy and naming Materials and textures LODs where appropriate Ready for integration into a Three.js/WebGL project Please Apply Only If You have experience creating optimized low-poly environments. You understand performance optimization for real-time rendering. You can show examples of previous landscape or open-world work. You have experience with Blender or similar 3D software. Experience with Three.js or browser-based games is a strong advantage. When applying, please include examples of environments you have created and briefly explain how you optimize scenes for large open worlds.
