Product Demo Animation for AI Calorie Trackiing App: App UI Walkthrough (MP4)

Summary

We're looking for a motion designer to create a polished, ~15–20 second animated product demo for our AI calorie tracking app. The animation shows our app's core user experience playing out inside a floating 3D phone mockup on a dark background — realistic simulated taps, typing, and screen transitions, as if a user were actually using the app. We have a reference video (attached) of exactly the style we want. We'll share it with shortlisted applicants if the attachment isn't visible to you. Budget: $500–$1,000 fixed price Deliverables: Rendered MP4 video (portrait master + re-framed 16:9 and 1:1 exports) The reference style The attached reference (from another consumer app) is the benchmark for look, feel, and pacing. What we like about it: - A single device mockup floating over a dark, minimal background — it opens slightly tilted in 3D perspective, then settles to a straight-on view - The app UI plays out as a realistic scripted session: prompt cards appear, the camera opens and a photo is "taken," a keyboard slides up and text types out letter by letter, and screens transition naturally - Smooth, confident pacing — each moment breathes for 2–4 seconds before moving on - Ends with a satisfying payoff moment (in the reference, a zoom-out to the phone's home screen) We want the same treatment applied to our app's flows. Scenes to animate (the app's core UX) The animation should walk through four moments, in roughly this order: 1. Snap a meal photo. The camera opens inside the app and the user photographs a plate of food. This is our signature interaction — it should feel quick and effortless. 2. AI analysis & results. The photo resolves into recognized foods with calories and macros (the "magic moment"). A brief scanning/processing beat before results appear is welcome if it heightens the payoff. 3. Food diary. The logged meal drops into the daily food diary, showing daily totals and progress at a glance. 4. AI nutritionist. The user asks our AI nutritionist a question and receives a helpful response — chat bubble appears, response types/streams in. We're open to your judgment on exact timing, transitions between scenes, and how to open and close the piece — propose what will make it strongest. Source material we'll provide - Figma design files for all relevant screens - App access to the live app so you can see the real flows, motion, and interactions - Brand assets (logo, colors, typography) Important: we do not want raw screen recordings composited into a frame. Please recreate the screens from our Figma/app as animation-optimized artwork so every element (buttons, cards, text, keyboard) can be animated cleanly and crisply. Deliverables - Portrait master MP4 — minimum 1080×2340 (2× render preferred so it stays crisp on retina displays), H.264/H.265, clean and loop-friendly. On-screen text must remain legible when the video is displayed small. Re-framed exports of the same animation on two additional canvases: 16:9 landscape (phone centered or offset, for desktop web/YouTube) and 1:1 square (for social feeds). Since the composition is a device on a flat dark background, we expect these to be re-frames, not re-builds. - Source files (After Effects or equivalent) with organized layers, plus the flat background hex/gradient values so we can extend the canvas on our website. - Bonus (optional, quote separately): a WebM or HEVC version with alpha (transparent background) for flexible web embedding. Possible phase two (not in this scope, but tell us if it's in your wheelhouse): a simplified vector-only Lottie excerpt of the snap → scan → results moment for lightweight in-app use. Process & revisions - Storyboard or style frame for approval before full animation - Two rounds of revisions included on the full animation - Target timeline: 1 week from kickoff (tell us your realistic estimate) To apply, please include - Links to 2-3 portfolio pieces closest to this style — device-mockup app demos with simulated UI interaction are ideal - Your tool stack (e.g., After Effects, Blender for the 3D device, Rive, Jitter) and your export/render workflow - Your estimated timeline and confirmation the budget range works for the scope above - The word "snappy" at the top of your proposal so we know you read the brief About the app Our app makes nutrition tracking effortless: snap a photo of your meal and AI identifies the food and logs calories and macros instantly, with a built-in AI nutritionist for guidance. The animation will be used on our website, in marketing, and embedded in-app.
