Product Icon Design

Project title: Product Icon Designer for Web and Mobile Application Project overview We are looking for an experienced product icon designer to redesign approximately 70 icons for a digital platform and establish a consistent visual system that can be expanded over time. The work is not simply to redraw individual icons. The designer will define a clear icon style, apply it consistently across the existing set, and create an organized Figma library that can support future icons. Scope of work The selected designer will: Review the existing icons and their use within the product. Identify icons that are unclear, inconsistent, repetitive, or unnecessarily complex. Define the visual rules for the icon system, including: Grid and sizing Stroke weight Corners and line endings Proportions Spacing Level of detail Visual weight Create a small set of representative icons to establish and approve the design direction. Redesign approximately 70 icons using the approved direction. Test the icons at common interface sizes, including 16, 20, 24, and 32 pixels. Organize the final icons into a reusable Figma component library. Supply clean, editable source files and production-ready SVG exports. Provide basic documentation so future icons can be created consistently. Be available to create additional icons on a per-icon or bundled basis after the initial project. Visual direction The current direction is: Minimal line-based icons Rounded and approachable Clear at small sizes Consistent in stroke and visual weight Modern and professional Warm without appearing childish Simple rather than decorative The selected designer may recommend improvements to the existing direction. Deliverables The final deliverables will include: Approved icon design direction Approximately 70 completed icons Editable Figma components Organized Figma icon library Consistent naming and categorization SVG exports PNG exports where specifically required Basic icon construction and usage guidelines Rules for creating additional icons Final quality review of the complete icon set All icons must be original, editable vector artwork. Flattened image files will not be accepted as the primary source files. Paid test Shortlisted designers may be invited to complete a paid test of three to five icons. The test will be used to evaluate: Visual quality Consistency across different icon concepts Ability to work at small interface sizes Figma file construction Communication and responsiveness Suitability for an ongoing working relationship Designer requirements Applicants should have: Experience designing icons for digital products A portfolio showing complete icon families, not only individual icons Strong Figma and vector design skills Experience creating reusable design-system components An understanding of icon legibility at small sizes Good file organization and naming practices Availability for future per-icon work Applicants whose portfolios primarily contain logos, illustrations, or large-format artwork should include examples specifically demonstrating interface icon design.
