Working closely with our Head of Product, Engineering, Design, and Commercial teams, you'll own product initiatives from discovery through to delivery. You'll be responsible for understanding customer problems, defining product requirements, prioritising work, and ensuring we're building products that create real value for employers and job seekers. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and loves turning customer insights into impactful product experiences. What You'll Do Own the product backlog, ensuring priorities align with customer needs and business goals. Partner with customers, internal stakeholders, and the commercial team to deeply understand problems and identify opportunities. Translate customer and business requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria for engineering. Work closely with Engineering and Design throughout the product development lifecycle, from discovery to launch. Prioritise features using customer feedback, product analytics, business impact, and strategic objectives. Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, product reviews, and release planning. Monitor product performance after launch, gathering insights and iterating based on data and customer feedback. Champion continuous product improvement and help shape ZEIL's long-term product roadmap. Collaborate across Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to deliver exceptional user experiences. What We're Looking For 2–5 years' experience as a Product Owner, Associate Product Manager, or Product Manager within a SaaS or technology business. Strong experience working with agile product teams and engineering. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to balance customer needs and business priorities. Experience writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and managing a product backlog. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a customer-first mindset. Comfortable using product management tools such as Jira. Ability to make decisions with imperfect information and adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment. Bonus Points Experience working in a startup or high-growth technology company. Experience building AI-powered products, recruitment technology, HRTech, or marketplace platforms. Familiarity with Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, or workflow automation. Exposure to customer discovery, experimentation, and product-led growth. Why ZEIL? At ZEIL, you'll help build products that are transforming how people find jobs and how employers hire. You'll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI products, influence product strategy, collaborate with a talented cross-functional team, and see your work make a real impact for thousands of users across New Zealand.
