**Production Mold Design Engineer (Contract or Part-Time)** We are seeking an experienced Mechanical or Manufacturing Design Engineer to design production steel molds for precast concrete products, including architectural concrete components used in cemetery and mausoleum construction. This is a part-time contract position for a self-motivated engineer who can develop durable, production-ready mold designs that are efficient to manufacture and built for repeated use. **Responsibilities** * Design steel molds and tooling for precast concrete production. * Create detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings using Fusion 360 or similar. * Utilize Fusion 360 Simulation (Stress Analysis) or similar to verify structural integrity, rigidity, and performance under production loads. * Design molds for ease of assembly, stripping, maintenance, and long service life. * Collaborate with fabrication and production teams to improve manufacturability and production efficiency. * Review existing molds and recommend design improvements to reduce maintenance and increase productivity. **Qualifications** * 5+ years of mechanical design or tooling design experience. * Proficiency with Fusion 360 or similar, including simulation and stress analysis. * Experience designing welded steel fabrications, fixtures, molds, or production tooling. * Strong understanding of structural mechanics, welding practices, and manufacturing processes. * Ability to produce complete fabrication drawings with appropriate tolerances and material specifications. * Experience with precast concrete, concrete forms, or heavy industrial equipment is highly preferred. * Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus but not required. **What We're Looking For** A practical engineer who enjoys solving manufacturing challenges and designing robust equipment that performs reliably in a production environment. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience designing tooling that can withstand repeated use while minimizing fabrication costs and maximizing production efficiency.
