Summary

PROFESSIONAL AFTER EFFECTS FOOTBALL / SOCCER SHORTS EDITOR — LONG-TERM WORK I am looking for a high-level, professional football/soccer video editor who can create viral YouTube Shorts in the style of some of the biggest football editing channels on YouTube. This is NOT a job for a basic editor. I am specifically looking for the Adobe After Effects style of football editing — professional motion graphics, tracking, masking, smooth zooms, clean captions, high-quality color grading, sound design, visual effects, storytelling, and strong pacing. Please study these channels carefully BEFORE applying: Slicx7 YouTube — Slicx7 https://youtube.com/@slicx7?si=BYagy3N4MXmsPGYx SinaFtbl YouTube — SinaFtbl https://youtube.com/@sinaftbl7?si=N-ItmwIqLy-CC5de GoalFX YouTube — GoalFX https://youtube.com/@gooalfx?si=2_kA_puyB-p1V0H1 SH10Comps YouTube — SH10Comps https://youtube.com/@sh10comps?si=NTyLRnX0n0EYZDJQ Football.sui7 YouTube — Football.sui7 https://youtube.com/@football.sui7?si=Sd5d5OE4Pz1YUisA DO NOT APPLY UNTIL YOU HAVE ACTUALLY WATCHED THEIR SHORTS. I am not asking for an exact copy of another creator’s work. I want an editor who understands the professional editing level, pacing, storytelling, visual language, and retention techniques used by these channels and can create original videos at a comparable level. ⸻ EDITING QUALITY I EXPECT I want edits that look like they were made by someone who genuinely knows Adobe After Effects, not someone applying a few transitions to clips. You should be comfortable with techniques such as: * Adobe After Effects-style editing * Professional motion tracking * Camera tracking when needed * Masking and rotoscoping * Motion graphics * Animated typography * Text tracking * Subject tracking * Smooth punch-in zooms * Dynamic reframing * Speed ramping * Time remapping * Slow motion * Motion blur * Freeze frames * High-quality transitions * Glow/highlight effects * Arrows and circles that track subjects * Background blur * Depth and separation between subject/background * Image and video compositing * Clean cutouts * Reaction zooms * Visual callouts * Professional color correction * Consistent color grading * High-quality sharpening/upscaling when necessary * Clean sound design * Layered sound effects * Music synchronization * Crowd/stadium ambience * Impact sounds * Whooshes and risers when appropriate Effects should have a purpose. I do not want random effects every second just because you know how to add them. The edit should feel clean, expensive, professional, and intentional. ⸻ AFTER EFFECTS STYLE This is important. I am specifically looking for the type of quality normally associated with Adobe After Effects football edits. If you work with programs such as: * Adobe After Effects * Premiere Pro * Topaz Video AI * Photoshop * Similar professional software that is a major plus. If your entire workflow consists of basic CapCut templates, automatic captions, preset transitions, and mobile editing, this job is probably not for you. I need someone who can actually build and customize effects instead of relying completely on templates. ⸻ VIRAL STORYTELLING The editing is only half of the job. You also need to understand YouTube Shorts retention. These channels are successful because their videos make viewers want to know what happens next. Every video should have a structure similar to: HOOK → SETUP → CURIOSITY → ESCALATION → PAYOFF The first 1–2 seconds are extremely important. There should be almost no wasted time. I want someone who understands: * Pattern interrupts * Open loops * Curiosity * Emotional storytelling * Comedy timing * Reaction timing * When to zoom * When to slow down * When NOT to cut * How to build anticipation * How to reveal the payoff * How to make someone watch until the final second * How to create videos people want to replay Do not just put random football clips together. Tell a story. ⸻ CAPTIONS / TEXT STYLE Study the references carefully. I want short, highly readable captions that complement the footage. This can include: * Bold text * Clean fonts * Different colors for important words * Player names highlighted * Text appearing exactly when necessary * Tracked text * Animated text * Words placed behind/in front of subjects when appropriate * Text emphasis on the most important part of a sentence * Minimal text instead of giant paragraphs The viewer should immediately understand what is happening. Captions should feel integrated into the edit, not like basic subtitles placed on top afterward. ⸻ VISUAL ATTENTION You should know how to direct the viewer’s eyes toward exactly what matters. Examples: * Tracking arrows * Circles * Glows * Subject highlights * Background darkening * Face zooms * Reaction zooms * Freeze frames * Replays * Cropping into small details * On-screen comparisons * Masked subjects * Tracked graphics * Small visual indicators * Selective emojis when they actually improve the video Do not overuse them. Professional editing means knowing when NOT to use an effect too. ⸻ FOOTBALL KNOWLEDGE You should preferably understand football/soccer. Topics may include: * Cristiano Ronaldo * Lionel Messi * Neymar * Mbappé * Lamine Yamal * Haaland * Bellingham * Football families * Player friendships * Rivalries * Funny moments * Emotional moments * Interviews * Training moments * Fan interactions * Teammate interactions * Dressing-room moments * Famous matches * Football history * Viral football stories * Off-field player moments Knowing football will make the editing process much easier. ⸻ VIDEO REQUIREMENTS Most projects will be: * YouTube Shorts * Vertical 9:16 * 1080 × 1920 * High-quality export * Approximately 20–60 seconds * Fast-paced but not rushed * Professional sound design * Professional captions * Professional storytelling * No unnecessary dead space When the footage supports it, I want smooth, sharp, high-quality output rather than blurry, over-compressed footage. ⸻ VERY IMPORTANT — PORTFOLIO PROOF REQUIRED DO NOT SEND ME WORK YOU DID NOT PERSONALLY EDIT. I am serious about this. I have seen freelancers use other people’s viral videos in their portfolios and claim they made them. Do not do that. EVERY APPLICANT MUST SEND LINKS TO VIDEOS THEY PERSONALLY EDITED. I want public links whenever possible, such as: * YouTube Shorts * YouTube videos * Instagram Reels * TikTok posts * Other publicly posted work Do not only send me a random downloaded MP4 and tell me you edited it. For each example, tell me: 1. What you personally edited 2. What software you used 3. Whether you edited the entire video yourself 4. Which effects/motion graphics you created 5. Whether anyone else worked on the video If you were part of a team, that is completely fine — just tell me exactly which part you did. DO NOT LIE ABOUT YOUR PORTFOLIO. If you did not personally edit a video, do not send it as your work. If I discover that you sent someone else’s work and claimed it was yours, your application will immediately be rejected. I may ask shortlisted editors for additional proof such as: * A screenshot of the After Effects project * Screenshot of the editing timeline * Screen recording showing the project/timeline * Original project file from one of your own edits * Before-and-after footage * Explanation of how a particular effect was created You do not need to send your project files in the first application, but you need to be able to prove that the portfolio work you submit is actually yours. IF YOU CANNOT PROVIDE LINKS OR PROOF OF YOUR WORK, PLEASE DO NOT APPLY. Saying “I can make this style” is not enough. I need to see proof that you have already created professional work. ⸻ APPLICATION QUESTIONS Answer EVERY question below. Applications that skip these questions may be rejected. 1. Send me links to your 3 BEST football/soccer edits that YOU personally edited. Please do not send 20 average examples. Send me your absolute best 3. 2. For each video, explain exactly what you personally did. 3. Which editing software do you use? 4. How experienced are you with Adobe After Effects? 5. Do you use Topaz Video AI or another program for footage enhancement/upscaling? 6. Can you create motion tracking, masking, rotoscoping, animated text, speed ramps, and custom motion graphics? 7. Which of the reference channels above are you confident you can come closest to in terms of editing QUALITY? 8. What is your price PER SHORT? Do not only send me an hourly rate. 9. How long does one professional 30–60 second Short normally take you? 10. How many high-quality Shorts can you realistically deliver every week? Do not give me an unrealistic number just to get hired. 11. Are you comfortable completing a PAID test video before receiving consistent work? 12. Are all the portfolio examples you sent actually edited by you? ⸻ PAID TEST The best applicants will receive a paid test project. I will use the test to judge: * Hook * Storytelling * Pacing * After Effects ability * Motion graphics * Captions * Tracking * Masking * Sound design * Footage selection * Color grading * Attention to detail * Overall professionalism * How closely you understood the references The test is not about seeing who can add the most effects. I want to see who understands why these edits work. ⸻ LONG-TERM OPPORTUNITY I am not looking for someone for only one video. If you are talented, reliable, communicate well, and consistently deliver this level of quality, I want to build a long-term working relationship. There will be opportunities for multiple videos every week. As the channel grows, I want an editor who can grow with it. I value: QUALITY OVER QUANTITY STORYTELLING OVER RANDOM EFFECTS RETENTION OVER FLASHY EDITING ORIGINAL WORK OVER COPYING RELIABILITY OVER EXCUSES ⸻ BEFORE YOU APPLY Watch multiple Shorts from the reference channels. Do not look at one video and immediately send me a proposal. Understand the editing. Understand the pacing. Understand the captions. Understand the storytelling. Understand how they keep viewers watching. Then send me examples that prove you can work at this level. START YOUR APPLICATION WITH: AFTER EFFECTS If those are not the first two words of your proposal, I will assume you did not read the job description. Again: Do not claim another editor’s work as your own. I will ask for proof if necessary. If you cannot provide links to work you personally edited, I will not accept the application.
