Professional Designer Needed to Create Editable Crisis Communications Toolkit

Project description I am developing a professional digital product business selling downloadable crisis communications resources internationally. I have already completed the substantive communications content. I am looking for an experienced document designer to turn the existing Word documents into polished, professional, commercially sellable products. This is not a writing or content-development project. The content has already been created. The first project will be to design the Core Crisis Communications Kit and establish a reusable visual design system that can then be applied to additional products. About the product The product is a practical crisis communications system designed for: Small businesses Non-profit organisations Municipal governments Communications professionals Organisations that do not have a dedicated crisis communications team The product contains practical crisis communications guidance, checklists, worksheets, templates, trackers and AI-assisted communications tools. The positioning is: Professional crisis communications resources without the cost of hiring a crisis communications consultant. The finished product should feel like something produced by a professional communications consultancy, rather than a generic downloadable template. What I need designed I will provide the completed Word documents containing the content. You will create a professional visual design system and apply it to the Core Kit. The Core Kit contains six sections: Prepare Respond Communicate Protect AI-Assisted Communications Recovery The exact content will be supplied. The design system should include Professional cover design Table of contents Section divider pages Heading hierarchy Body text styles Callout boxes Checklists Tables Worksheets Trackers Template pages AI prompt pages Instruction pages Notes areas where appropriate Headers and footers Page numbers Consistent navigation Version/date information Disclaimer page The design needs to work across documents of different lengths and types. Very important: editable files The final customer products must be fully editable Microsoft Word documents. Customers need to be able to: Type into templates Change text Add information Modify tables Customise content Print the documents I also need high-quality PDF versions for customers who want to read or print the materials. Please do not create a design that looks good only as a PDF but becomes unusable when edited in Word. The functionality of the Word documents is as important as the visual design. Design direction I am looking for a design that is: Professional Modern Clean Credible Practical Highly readable International Appropriate for government, non-profit and business audiences Easy to navigate Suitable for printing Consistent across a large product library The design should communicate professional communications expertise and preparedness. Please avoid Excessive decorative graphics Overuse of icons Generic corporate stock photography Excessive colours Busy layouts Designs that look like Canva templates Designs that look like generic Etsy printables Anything that compromises Word editing functionality The product should feel substantial and professional. This is the first phase of a larger project I have already developed a larger product library. Once the Core Kit design is approved, I expect to use the same design system for additional products, including multiple add on packs. Therefore, I am looking for someone who can create a strong master design system that can be replicated consistently across multiple products. There may be additional work available after successful completion of the first project. Deliverables For Phase 1, I require: 1. Designed Core Crisis Communications Kit Complete formatted version of all six sections. 2. Editable Microsoft Word files All final documents must remain fully editable. 3. High-quality PDF versions Suitable for digital distribution and printing. 4. Master Word template A reusable template containing: Styles Heading hierarchy Page layouts Tables Headers/footers Colours Typography Standard elements 5. Design specifications Please provide the basic design specifications so the system can be replicated in future products: Fonts Font sizes Colours Heading styles Spacing Table styles Page layouts Other key design elements 6. Source files Please provide the original design/source files used to create the finished product, where applicable. Commercial rights This is a commercial product that will be sold repeatedly to customers. I need the final design work to be delivered with the appropriate commercial rights for me to use, modify, reproduce, distribute and sell the resulting products internationally. The designer must not retain restrictions that prevent me from commercially distributing the finished documents. Please clearly state in your proposal what rights are included in your price. Important workflow I do not want the entire project designed before I see the direction. The preferred process is: Stage 1 Create 2–3 sample pages showing the proposed design direction. For example: Cover Standard content page Template/checklist page Stage 2 I provide feedback and approve the design direction. Stage 3 Apply the approved design system to the complete Core Kit. Stage 4 Final quality-control review and corrections. Stage 5 Deliver final Word, PDF and master template files.
