Project Controller

The Project Controller will support the Project Manager by developing and maintaining project controls systems focused on schedule management and cost tracking. This role is essential for ensuring disciplined project execution, transparent reporting, and alignment with municipal governance requirements. This is a part‑time role during design phases, increasing to near full‑time during construction and commissioning. Key Responsibilities 1) Schedule Management Develop the master project schedule covering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness. Perform resource loading, critical path analysis, and milestone tracking. Update the schedule monthly and provide variance analysis. Coordinate schedule inputs from design consultants, Construction Manager, commissioning teams, and specialty consultants. Prepare schedule reports and dashboards for monthly progress reporting. 2) Cost & Financial Controls Assist in developing the project cost tracking framework aligned with municipal reporting requirements. Monitor expenditures, commitments, forecasts, and cash flow. Track change orders and potential cost impacts (PM will lead change management; controller will track cost effects). Support monthly cost reporting and financial dashboards. Maintain cost logs and support preparation of financial summaries for governance reporting.
