QuickBooks for Mac 2019+ File Archive/Conversion & Wave Setup

I’m looking for an experienced accounting professional to help transition my small business accounting from a legacy **QuickBooks for Mac 2019 company file to Wave Accounting**. My existing QuickBooks file contains my bookkeeping history through **December 31, 2024**. I have not done any bookkeeping for 2025 in QuickBooks, so I do not need 2025 transactions migrated. My primary goals are to: * Safely preserve/archive my historical QuickBooks records through 2024 * Make sure I can access important historical accounting information in the future without depending entirely on discontinued software * Properly set up Wave Accounting beginning January 1, 2025 ### QuickBooks File Access The company file was created in **QuickBooks for Mac 2019**. The file can be opened/upgraded using **QuickBooks for Mac 2019 or a newer version**. You do NOT need to have the exact 2019 version, but you must have access to a compatible **QuickBooks for Mac 2019 or newer version** and be able to successfully open/upgrade the company file. I understand that if the file is upgraded to a newer QuickBooks format, the upgraded copy may no longer open in my original QuickBooks for Mac 2019 software. That is fine. I would like the **original 2019 company file preserved separately and unchanged** before any conversion or upgrade is performed. ### Scope of Work **1. Access and Review QuickBooks File** * Successfully open/upgrade my QuickBooks for Mac 2019 company file * Review the accounting records through 12/31/2024 * Confirm the balances necessary to establish my new Wave books beginning 1/1/2025 * Let me know if you identify any significant accounting issues that should be addressed before transitioning **2. Create a Long-Term Historical Archive** I want to preserve my QuickBooks accounting history in formats that will remain accessible even if I cannot use QuickBooks for Mac in the future. Please preserve the original QuickBooks company/backup file and export important historical records into commonly accessible formats such as **PDF, Excel and/or CSV**, as appropriate. At minimum, I would like to preserve: * General Ledger * Profit & Loss statements * Balance Sheets * Chart of Accounts * Transaction history/detail * Account registers * Customer and vendor information * Any other reports or data you recommend retaining for accounting or tax purposes I am open to your recommendation regarding the best way to create a comprehensive long-term accounting archive. **3. Set Up Wave Accounting Beginning 1/1/2025** * Create or properly configure my Wave Accounting business * Set up/review the Chart of Accounts * Establish the appropriate 1/1/2025 opening balances based on the 12/31/2024 QuickBooks records * Set up the applicable bank and credit card accounts * Make sure the accounting structure is appropriate for my small business * Confirm that Wave is properly configured and ready for 2025 bookkeeping **This project does NOT include entering or categorizing my 2025 transactions. I will be hiring separately for that portion once Wave is properly set up.** ### Ideal Candidate I’m looking for someone who has: * Experience with QuickBooks for Mac * Access to QuickBooks for Mac 2019 or a newer compatible Mac version * Experience opening/upgrading older QuickBooks company files * Direct experience with Wave Accounting * Experience transitioning businesses between accounting systems * Strong understanding of opening balances, balance sheets and year-end accounting * Experience preserving/exporting historical accounting records * Strong attention to detail * Clear communication
