Reels & Long-Form Video Editor — Nutrition Education Channel, Format Still Being Defined

Posted 2 weeks ago

Summary

We're launching a new nutrition education YouTube channel and need a video editor to help us figure out the right format before we scale up production. We're a 10-year-old nutrition education company with an established, credible presence in the space — this channel is a new initiative for us, so while the brand and authority behind it are solid, the content format itself is still being defined. Nothing has been published on this channel yet, which is where you come in. Phase 1 — Format & Style (this is the real test of fit):
We'll share 2 sample reels we've already edited, plus one of our course lecture videos. We'd like you to: * Watch both and tell us honestly what's working and what isn't * Suggest a stronger hook structure, better pacing, and retention techniques for the reels * Recommend templates, text overlays, sound design, and transitions that would make the content more scroll-stopping * Share thoughts on how the long-form course lecture could be edited to hold attention better (pacing, visual variety, on-screen graphics, etc.) If shortlisted, we'll send you raw footage plus our existing edited reels, and ask you to create your own version — your interpretation of what a great output looks like for this content. We're not looking for someone to copy a template; we want your editorial judgment. Phase 2 — Ongoing work (once format is set):
After we lock in a style together, this becomes regular monthly work — a mix of short-form Reels/Shorts and long-form educational videos (course lectures plus general food & nutrition content) for YouTube and Instagram. Expect roughly 30-50 hours of work per month, though this could grow as the channel scales. You should have: * A sharp eye for hooks, pacing, and what makes viewers stay till the end * Comfort giving honest creative feedback, not just executing instructions * Experience with CapCut, Premiere Pro, or similar * A strong portfolio in related content is optional, but recommended(short-form and long-form both a plus) To apply: Share 2-3 examples of your best short-form and/or long-form edits, and briefly tell us what you'd look for first when trying to improve retention on an unreleased channel.
