We need a registered dietician to create beverage recipes that are both nutritious and appealing. The ideal candidate will have experience in food and beverage development and can translate dietary needs into practical, tasty recipes. This is a part-time project with a focus on quality and creativity in recipe development. Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist + Healthy Beverage Recipe Developer & Photographer About Hydration Bar MD Hydration Bar MD is a physician-led health and wellness media brand focused on evidence-based hydration, healthy beverages, beverage science, and practical drink recipes. Our goal is to help people make smarter beverage choices through credible health education and beautiful, approachable recipes. We are seeking one versatile, creative professional who can manage the complete recipe-development process—from concept and nutrition analysis to recipe testing, food styling, photography, and ready-to-publish delivery. Scope of Work The selected professional will: * Develop original healthy beverage recipes aligned with assigned themes and evidence-based health goals. * Test every recipe for taste, accuracy, appearance, and ease of preparation. * Provide exact ingredient measurements, serving sizes, preparation times, and clear step-by-step instructions. * Calculate nutrition information using reputable nutrition-analysis software. * Write a brief, plain-language description of each beverage’s nutritional value. * Suggest appropriate ingredient substitutions and variations. * Style and photograph each completed beverage. * Create polished visual content suitable for the Hydration Bar MD website, newsletter, Instagram, Pinterest, and brand partnerships. * Deliver all written and visual assets in organized, ready-to-publish folders. * Revise recipes or photographs when reasonable changes are required. Photography Requirements This position requires genuine beverage photography experience—not only general food photography. The successful candidate must demonstrate experience photographing: * Glassware and reflective surfaces * Clear and transparent liquids * Ice and frozen ingredients * Condensation and chilled glasses * Carbonated and sparkling beverages * Layered drinks, garnishes, herbs, fruit, and infusions * Pouring, splashing, stirring, and other beverage-action shots * Light-colored or transparent drinks against visually appropriate backgrounds The photographer should understand how to manage reflections, glare, melting ice, condensation, transparency, color accuracy, and changing beverage appearance during a shoot. Candidates without a portfolio showing professional beverage photography will not be considered. Deliverables Per Recipe Unless otherwise specified, each completed recipe should include: 1. One original, tested beverage recipe 2. Recipe title and short introduction 3. Ingredient list with exact measurements 4. Clear step-by-step preparation instructions 5. Yield and serving size 6. Preparation time 7. Nutrition analysis per serving 8. Ingredient substitutions and optional variations 9. Storage and serving guidance, when applicable 10. Brief evidence-informed nutrition notes 11. Three to five fully edited, high-resolution photographs, including: * One vertical hero image * One horizontal website image * One close-up/detail image * One social-media-friendly image * One preparation or ingredient image, when requested 12. Web-optimized versions of the final photographs 13. One short vertical video or Reel, when included in the assignment 14. Original image and video files, if required by the agreed work order Required Qualifications * Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist preferred, or a nutrition professional with clearly verifiable education and credentials * Demonstrated experience developing healthy beverage recipes * Strong recipe-testing and recipe-writing skills * Professional beverage photography and styling portfolio * Understanding of nutrition analysis and responsible health claims * Ability to translate nutrition information into clear, consumer-friendly language * Strong attention to detail * Reliable communication and consistent deadline management * Ability to work independently while following brand guidelines * Experience creating content for health, wellness, food, or beverage brands Preferred Experience * Developing infused waters, smoothies, teas, mocktails, electrolyte drinks, functional beverages, or other wellness-focused drinks * Creating recipes for adults interested in metabolic health, healthy aging, women’s health, weight management, or disease prevention * Producing vertical short-form beverage videos * Working with physician-led or evidence-based health brands * Creating content for websites, Instagram, Pinterest, and newsletters * Understanding SEO-friendly recipe formatting * Experience with culturally inclusive ingredients and recipes Important Content Standards All recipes must be original, properly tested, and created specifically for Hydration Bar MD unless otherwise agreed in writing. Nutrition and health statements must be accurate, responsible, and supported by credible evidence. The contractor must not make exaggerated claims or describe a beverage as treating, preventing, reversing, or curing a medical condition. Final health claims and educational language will be reviewed by Hydration Bar MD before publication. Application Requirements Please include the following in your proposal: 1. Your professional nutrition credentials and how they can be verified 2. A brief description of your recipe-development experience 3. A link to your beverage photography portfolio 4. At least five examples of beverages you personally styled and photographed 5. Examples showing glassware, transparent liquids, reflections, ice, and condensation 6. Confirmation that you personally developed, styled, and photographed the submitted work 7. A sample of a complete recipe you developed 8. The nutrition-analysis software you use 9. Your rate per completed recipe package 10. Your price for adding one short vertical video 11. Your typical turnaround time 12. The number of revisions included in your rate 13. Confirmation that you can transfer the agreed commercial usage rights to Hydration Bar MD 14. Your availability for an ongoing monthly relationship Please clearly identify any portfolio work completed as part of a team and explain which portions you personally handled. Screening Questions Please answer these questions in your application: 1. What professional nutrition credential do you hold? 2. How many years of beverage recipe-development experience do you have? 3. What makes beverage photography different from general food photography? 4. How do you control reflections and glare when photographing glassware? 5. How do you keep ice, condensation, garnishes, and clear liquids looking fresh during a shoot? 6. Please share one project in which you developed the recipe, tested it, styled it, and photographed it yourself. 7. What equipment, lighting setup, and editing software do you use? 8. How do you verify that a recipe’s nutrition analysis is accurate? 9. Can you produce both horizontal website images and vertical social-media images during the same shoot? 10. Are you willing to complete a paid test assignment before an ongoing contract is offered? Paid Test Assignment Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete one paid test project. The assignment will involve developing and photographing one original, healthy beverage recipe based on a Hydration Bar MD creative brief. The candidate will be evaluated on: * Recipe originality * Taste and practicality * Accuracy and clarity * Nutrition analysis * Evidence-informed language * Beverage styling * Lighting and color * Management of glass reflections * Appearance of ice and condensation * Quality of transparent-liquid photography * Brand alignment * File organization * Communication * Ability to meet the deadline Successful completion of the test may lead to ongoing monthly work. Rights and Confidentiality The selected contractor must agree that: * Recipes and creative materials must be original and must not infringe upon another party’s intellectual property. * Final approved deliverables may not be resold, relicensed, republished, or provided to another client. * Upon full payment, Hydration Bar MD will receive the commercial usage and publication rights specified in the contract. * The contractor may not publish project materials in a portfolio or on social media before Hydration Bar MD’s official publication without written permission. * Unpublished content, business information, creative briefs, and brand plans must remain confidential. * Any pre-existing assets, licensed materials, fonts, music, stock elements, or third-party content must be disclosed before use. Engagement This is a remote, independent-contractor opportunity with the potential to become an ongoing relationship. We prefer to work with one professional who can consistently handle nutrition-informed recipe development, testing, styling, photography, and visual content production.
