Summary

Zolena Lab Inc., a Calgary-based environmental monitoring company, is building a project-based remote talent pool for satellite risk screening and evidence organization for global supply-chain land plots. We are looking for an experienced Remote Sensing / GIS Analyst who can support recurring assignments as client work becomes available. This is not a full-time role and there is no guaranteed minimum workload. Typical work • Review supplied coordinates, polygons, KML, or GeoJSON files • Check geospatial data quality and flag boundary problems • Interpret Sentinel-2, Landsat, and other relevant satellite imagery • Conduct land-cover, forest-change, and agricultural land assessments • Use QGIS, ArcGIS, Copernicus Browser, Whisp, or comparable tools • Compare imagery across dates and identify cloud, shadow, or data-consistency issues • Prepare concise English technical notes and evidence summaries • Escalate ambiguous cases rather than make unsupported conclusions Required background • Master’s degree or higher in remote sensing, GIS, geography, forestry, environmental science, agriculture, or a related field • Normally 5+ years of relevant professional experience • Strong practical QGIS/GIS and satellite-image interpretation skills • Experience with forest change, land cover, agriculture, or geospatial quality control • Clear written English and reliable asynchronous communication Senior reviewers with 10+ years of experience are also welcome to apply for more difficult or disputed cases. Engagement model • Fully remote, project-based, and paid by agreed hourly time, plot volume, or work batch • First real client assignment is paid and serves as a practical validation • The posted US$12–25/hour range is intended for standard analyst assignments; senior-review scope and pricing can be agreed separately • Text-based screening and communication; no routine video interview is required Please include in your proposal: 1. Short CV/profile and highest degree 2. Two relevant project examples 3. Tools, datasets, and methods you use 4. Weekly availability and typical response time 5. Your expected hourly rate and/or per-batch quote This work supports technical satellite screening and evidence organization. It does not issue EUDR certification and does not make final legal compliance determinations.
