Overview We are seeking a highly reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive Remote Short-Term Rental Manager to oversee the operations of a single successful vacation rental property in Mammoth Lakes, California. The property has been operating smoothly since 2018, and we are looking for a dedicated partner to take over guest communication, coordinator management, and revenue optimization. This is a highly flexible, part-time role requiring approximately 2 to 3 hours per week, mostly during regular business hours in PST. Tasks are fragmented—requiring quick, 5-to-10-minute interventions every 1–2 days rather than blocks of continuous hours. Note: we are looking for an individual, not a company handling hundreds of properties. Key Responsibilities Guest Communication: Respond promptly and professionally to all guest inquiries, booking requests, and in-stay questions (mainly via Airbnb/VRBO/Booking.com) during US PST business hours. Turnover Coordination: Monitor the booking calendar and coordinate directly with our established local cleaning team, handyman, and snow removal service to ensure seamless guest transitions. Issue Resolution: Troubleshooting minor issues remotely (e.g., guiding a guest through smart lock issues, dispatching local maintenance if required). Revenue Growth: Actively review and adjust pricing to maximize bookings and revenue. Review Management: Communicate persuasively with guests to ensure uniform 5-star reviews. Arrange for removal of any false or retaliatory reviews. Schedule & Availability Requirements Must be available to check notifications and respond to urgent messages during US Business/Daytime Hours (Pacific Time Zone). This role is perfect for a portfolio-style freelancer who already manages a few low-hour properties and is consistently at their desk/active on mobile during the US day.
