Research Report Designer: Branded PDF, Charts & Market One-Pagers from Survey Findings
Worldwide
We're a market research team that has fielded a national consumer opinion survey (parents of high school students across 10 US metro markets). Our analyst is turning the data into a set of findings, and we need an experienced report designer to turn those findings into polished, publication-ready deliverables we can share with press, partners, and internal stakeholders. You'll be working from a finished findings summary and data tables provided by our analyst. Note that you are not doing the analysis, you're making it look credible, clear, and professional. This is an academic survey research report design, not general graphic design: the output needs to read like a legitimate research publication, not a marketing brochure. Scope of work: 1. A formatted, branded findings report (approximately 15–20 pages, PDF) with clear data visualizations and narrative layout Per-metro one-page summaries (up to 10 markets) suitable for regional press outreach 2. A topline summary deck (PowerPoint or equivalent) for internal and external sharing 3. Clean, accurate charts and data visualizations built from the analyst's tables (bar, line, comparison, and cross-tab visuals) 4. Consistent visual system across all deliverables that reflects our brand What we're looking for: A. Demonstrated experience designing research reports, survey findings, or data-driven publications specifically so please share examples (any general graphic design or marketing portfolios without research work won't be a fit) B. Strong data visualization skills: you know how to represent survey data accurately and clearly, not just attractively C. Fluency in your design tools of choice (InDesign, Illustrator, Figma, or equivalent) plus PowerPoint/Google Slides for the deck D. Ability to take analyst-provided tables and turn them into clean visuals without misrepresenting the data E. Clear communication and reasonable turnaround across a few rounds of revision Confidentiality and data handling: This project involves unpublished research findings. Before receiving any materials, the selected designer will sign a standard NDA covering the findings, data tables, and any interim outputs, plus a work-for-hire clause (all deliverables owned by us). Materials must be stored securely, not copied beyond what the project requires, and deleted or returned on completion. Comfort with these terms is required to be considered. Note: you'll be working with aggregate findings and charts, not raw respondent-level data. Timezone: Some overlap with Pacific Timezone (PT) in the US across reasonable business hours is preferred for review cycles. You don't need to be US-based, but we'll have a few rounds of back-and-forth and want reasonable turnaround. To apply, please include: *Two or three examples of research reports, survey findings, or data-driven publications you've designed (this is the most important thing as we're looking specifically for research/data work) *Which design tools you use *Your estimated total cost and turnaround for the scope above *Confirmation that you're comfortable signing an NDA before receiving materials *Any questions about the project This is a fixed-scope project with potential for a repeat wave in 2027.
