Hawk is seeking a detail-oriented researcher to identify companies and decision-makers connected to conventions and specialized industries, then verify, clean, and organize the information into sourced B2B datasets. This paid position can develop into a long-term data-operations role with increased responsibility and compensation. B2B Data Research & Event Intelligence Specialist: Long-Term Opportunity About the project Hawk is building a B2B event and market-intelligence platform. We identify companies and decision-makers connected to conventions, trade shows, industries, and specialized markets, then organize the information into accurate, verified, and commercially useful datasets. We are looking for a dependable data research specialist who can help build these datasets using approved publicly available or properly licensed sources. This will begin with a paid trial project. The right person may receive consistent long-term work, expanded responsibilities, and an opportunity for increased compensation after three to four months of accurate and reliable performance. Responsibilities * Research upcoming conventions, conferences, and trade shows * Identify exhibitors, sponsors, speakers, partners, and participating companies * Find and verify company websites and domains * Identify relevant current decision-makers at each company * Research names, titles, business emails, LinkedIn URLs, and business phone numbers * Verify current employment and job-title relevance * Clean, normalize, and deduplicate company and contact records * Record the exact source URL and research date for every record * Organize information in Excel, Google Sheets, CSV, and HubSpot-ready formats * Follow Hawk’s required field structure and quality-control procedures * Flag conflicting, incomplete, questionable, or outdated records * Help document and improve research procedures over time Required record information Contact records will generally require: * Company name * Company website * Company domain * Event relationship * Named current contact * Current job title * Verified business email * LinkedIn profile when available * Business phone when available * Source URL * Date researched * Verification status * Research notes when necessary Information must never be invented or presented as verified without supporting evidence. Required qualifications * Strong web-research and lead-list-building experience * Excellent attention to detail * Experience finding current company and contact information * Proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets * Experience cleaning and deduplicating data * Understanding of structured columns and standardized data formats * Ability to follow written procedures exactly * Clear written English * Consistent availability and communication * Willingness to sign an NDA and data-security agreement * Willingness to personally perform the assigned work Preferred experience Experience with any of the following is valuable but not required: * HubSpot CRM imports * Email-verification platforms * Data extraction and scraping tools * Apify, Octoparse, ParseHub, Clay, or similar tools * Airtable * SQL or Supabase * n8n or other automation platforms * B2B event, exhibitor, sponsor, or conference research * Documenting repeatable operating procedures Source and compliance requirements Hawk maintains strict data-source rules. The selected contractor must agree to: * Use only sources approved by Hawk * Document the source of every record * Never circumvent authentication, paywalls, CAPTCHAs, or access restrictions * Never scrape private attendee portals * Never use unauthorized LinkedIn automation or scraping * Never use customer or third-party data outside the assigned project * Never retain, reuse, distribute, or sell Hawk data * Never subcontract the work without written approval * Never upload Hawk data into personal AI or software accounts * Immediately report any uncertain or restricted source Applicants who specialize in unauthorized bulk scraping are not a fit for this project. Paid trial project Finalists will be offered a paid trial involving one assigned convention or market. The trial will require approximately: * 100 normalized company records * 50 complete decision-maker records * Source documentation * Email verification * Duplicate removal * Final delivery in Hawk’s required spreadsheet format We will manually audit the completed work for accuracy, completeness, provenance, and compliance. We are not requesting unpaid sample work. Long-term opportunity Candidates who successfully complete the trial may be offered 15–25 hours of ongoing work per week, with the opportunity for additional hours as Hawk grows. After three to four months of consistently accurate work, dependable communication, and increased responsibility, we will conduct a compensation review.
