Shopify Blog Editor, SEO & Publishing Specialist — 40 Articles About Little Worlds Toy Co Little Worlds Toy Co is a new Australian premium children’s toy retailer focused on beautiful, high-quality, open-ended toys that encourage imagination, creativity and long-lasting play. Our philosophy is: Beautiful toys for big imaginations. Choose fewer. Choose better. A major part of our growth strategy is The Little Worlds Journal — a library of high-quality evergreen articles helping parents understand open-ended play, choose better toys and find products suited to their children. We are looking for an experienced Shopify content editor, SEO specialist and publisher to take approximately 40 completed articles supplied by us and turn them into polished, interconnected, search-optimised Shopify Journal posts. Important: We Are Supplying the Articles This is not primarily a writing project. We will provide: - The completed article copy - Article topics and structure - Brand tone and positioning - Our standard article template - Product information - Brand information - Access to relevant Shopify products, collections and pages Your role is to refine, optimise, enrich, link, visually enhance and publish the content. Minor rewriting and editing is expected where it improves clarity, SEO or readability, but you will not be expected to research and write 40 articles from scratch. Scope of Work For each article, we expect the following. 1. Editorial Refinement Review the supplied article and improve where necessary: - Grammar and spelling - Readability - Sentence structure - Repetition - Flow - Heading structure - Clarity - Scanability - Tone consistency - Calls to action You should preserve the substance and voice of the supplied article rather than unnecessarily rewriting it. The final content should feel: Warm, useful, premium, thoughtful and knowledgeable. Our guiding principle is: Help first. Sell second. 2. SEO & GEO Optimisation Optimise each supplied article for both traditional search and modern AI/search discovery. This should include: - Primary search intent - Primary keyword or question - Relevant secondary terms - Natural semantic keywords - H1/H2/H3 optimisation - SEO title - Meta description - URL handle - Answer-first formatting where appropriate - FAQ opportunities - Clear definitions and concise answers - Strong page structure - Relevant entities/topics - Image alt text We do not want keyword stuffing or robotic SEO writing. The underlying article quality should always come first. 3. Internal Linking This is a major part of the project. We want the approximately 40 articles to operate as an interconnected content library. You will identify and add relevant links between: - Journal articles - Product pages - Collection pages - Brand pages - Category pages - Other relevant areas of the Little Worlds website Anchor text should be natural and useful. As later articles are published, earlier articles may need to be revisited to add additional internal links. A final cross-linking review of the full Journal should be completed once all articles are live. 4. Relevant External Links Where appropriate, add links to credible external sources such as: - Manufacturers - Government guidance - Recognised child development organisations - Safety information - Relevant research or authoritative sources External links should only be included where they genuinely strengthen the article. We do not want unnecessary outbound linking. 5. Images Each article should be visually appealing and broken up appropriately with relevant imagery. Your role may include: - Selecting suitable supplied product images - Identifying relevant manufacturer imagery - Sourcing commercially usable royalty-free images where appropriate - Suggesting placement of images - Cropping/resizing images if required - Optimising image file names - Adding descriptive alt text - Ensuring images display well on desktop and mobile Any externally sourced images must have appropriate commercial usage rights. Please state clearly in your application whether image sourcing and basic image preparation are included in your fee. 6. Shopify Publishing You will publish and format each article directly within Shopify. This includes: - Correct heading hierarchy - Paragraph formatting - Lists - Images - Links - Tables where useful - Calls to action - Product/collection links - Alt text - Meta title - Meta description - URL handle - Article tags/categories where relevant - Mobile readability review The final article should be completely publication-ready. 7. Content Consistency Although the articles are supplied, we want someone to review the Journal as a complete body of content. This includes identifying: - Inconsistent terminology - Duplicate explanations - Weak internal linking - Missing content connections - Unnecessary repetition - Opportunities to link articles into topic clusters - Formatting inconsistencies - Opportunities to improve article titles or headings - Articles that could better direct readers toward relevant products or categories We want the final result to feel like one professionally edited Journal, not 40 independently uploaded articles. Content Areas Articles will cover topics including: - Open-ended toys - Open-ended play - Small-world play - Wooden toys - Toy rotation - Playrooms - Choosing toys by age - Buying fewer, better toys - Animal figurines - Train sets - Magnetic tiles - Construction toys - Pretend play - Imaginative play - Gift guides - Toy category guides - Brand guides - Toy comparisons - Product selection guides Ideal Freelancer We are particularly interested in people with experience in: - Shopify - On-page SEO - Content editing - E-commerce content - Blog publishing - Internal linking - Content clusters / topical authority - Image sourcing - SEO metadata - Parenting, lifestyle or children's brands Strong Shopify experience is particularly important. You should also have strong editorial judgement — we do not want someone mechanically running supplied articles through an AI tool and publishing the output. AI tools may be used intelligently within your workflow, but the final work must be manually reviewed and professionally finished. Deliverables Approximately 40 completed and published Shopify Journal articles. For each article: - Supplied copy reviewed and refined - Correct formatting - SEO/GEO optimisation - SEO title - Meta description - URL handle - Heading optimisation - Internal links - Relevant external links where useful - Images added - Image file names optimised - Alt text added - Relevant product/collection/brand links - FAQs reviewed/optimised where applicable - Mobile/desktop presentation checked - Published or ready for final approval At the completion of the project: - Full Journal internal-linking review - Consistency review across all 40 articles - Identification and correction of obvious gaps or issues Proposed Workflow We would like to begin with a paid test of 1–2 articles. If successful, the remainder can be completed in batches. Suggested structure: Milestone 1: 2 test articles Milestone 2: Articles 3–10 Milestone 3: Articles 11–20 Milestone 4: Articles 21–30 Milestone 5: Articles 31–40 Final milestone: Full Journal cross-linking and quality review When Applying Please provide: 1. Examples of Shopify blogs or content you have formatted/published. 2. Your experience with on-page SEO. 3. Your experience creating internal-linking strategies. 4. Any experience with e-commerce content. 5. Whether you can source and prepare appropriate images. 6. Whether you can work directly inside Shopify. 7. What SEO tools you use, if any. 8. How you would optimise an already-written article rather than rewrite it. 9. Your proposed fee per article or for the full 40-article project. 10. Confirmation that you are happy to complete a paid 1–2 article test first. Please begin your application with: “Little Worlds Journal” so we know you have read the full brief. Engagement This project covers approximately 40 supplied articles. If the relationship works well, there is likely to be ongoing work as the Little Worlds Journal expands with new product guides, comparisons, brand content, seasonal articles and updates to existing posts.
