SEO Content & Conversion Specialist – Local/Home Services | WordPress + AI LONG-TERM PART-TIME POSITION We are looking for an experienced SEO Content & Conversion Specialist to help research, plan, create, optimize, and improve websites for local and home-service businesses in the United States. Our clients include moving companies and other service-based businesses. This is NOT a basic SEO writer position. We are looking for someone who understands the complete relationship between: Keyword Research → Search Intent → Content Strategy → Service and Location Pages → Internal Linking → Local SEO → AI Search → User Experience → Conversion → Leads The goal is not simply publishing more content. The goal is to create websites that: • Rank for valuable searches • Support Google Maps and Local Pack visibility • Build topical and local authority • Improve visibility in AI-driven search • Answer customer questions • Build trust • Generate phone calls • Generate quote requests • Convert visitors into customers You should be comfortable analyzing an existing website, identifying what is missing, recommending what should be built or improved, and helping execute that strategy. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. SEO CONTENT STRATEGY You will help determine what content our clients actually need. This may include: • Service pages • Location pages • City pages • Neighborhood pages • Landing pages • Pricing pages • Comparison pages • FAQ resources • Educational articles • Supporting blog content • Guides • Seasonal content • Conversion-focused pages • Authority content You should understand the difference between creating content because "we need another blog post" and creating content because there is a specific keyword, search-intent, topical-authority, internal-linking, or conversion opportunity. Every important page should have a purpose. 2. KEYWORD AND SEARCH-INTENT RESEARCH You should understand professional keyword research. Responsibilities may include: • Keyword discovery • Search-volume analysis • Keyword difficulty • Local keyword research • Competitor keyword analysis • Search-intent analysis • Long-tail keyword discovery • Question-based searches • Near-me search behavior • Voice-search opportunities • Commercial-intent keywords • Informational keywords • Keyword clustering • Keyword cannibalization analysis • Existing-ranking opportunities You should understand that "moving company" and "how much do movers cost in Denver?" represent different search intents and require different content strategies. 3. SERVICE PAGE DEVELOPMENT You should be capable of researching, outlining, writing, and optimizing high-quality service pages. Examples for a moving company might include: • Local Moving • Residential Moving • Apartment Moving • Office Moving • Senior Moving • Labor-Only Moving • Packing Services • Long-Distance Moving • Moving and Storage • Furniture Moving Service pages should NOT simply be 1,500 words written to satisfy an SEO word count. They should: • Answer customer questions • Establish expertise • Explain the service • Address concerns • Demonstrate trust • Support local relevance • Include appropriate calls to action • Link to related resources • Help users make a buying decision 4. LOCATION AND CITY PAGE SEO Strong Local SEO experience is highly preferred. You should understand how to create useful location pages without producing thin, repetitive, or spammy doorway-style content. Each location page should have genuine value and appropriate local relevance. Responsibilities may include: • City keyword research • Competitor analysis • SERP analysis • Local content research • Location-specific service information • Neighborhood references where useful • Local FAQs • Internal linking • Calls to action • Schema recommendations • Local trust elements • Related service links You should understand how to differentiate location pages rather than simply replacing one city name with another. 5. CONTENT ARCHITECTURE This is an important part of the position. We want someone who understands how pages work together. You should understand: • Pillar pages • Content clusters • Supporting content • Service architecture • Location architecture • Information hierarchy • Topical authority • Breadcrumbs • Parent and child relationships • URL structure The goal is to create a structured website instead of hundreds of disconnected pages. 6. INTERNAL LINKING Internal linking is a major responsibility. You should be able to develop and maintain intelligent internal-linking strategies. This includes: • Service to location links • Location to service links • Blog to service links • Blog to location links where appropriate • Supporting article to pillar links • Related-service links • Contextual internal links • Navigation opportunities • Footer opportunities • Breadcrumb structure • Orphan-page identification • Anchor-text optimization Internal links should help both users and search engines understand the website. We do NOT want random keyword stuffing through automated internal links. 7. ON-PAGE SEO You should be comfortable optimizing: • SEO titles • Meta descriptions • H1 headings • H2 and H3 structure • URLs • Introductory copy • Image alt text • Internal links • External references where appropriate • Calls to action • FAQs • Page structure • Content depth • Semantic relevance • Related entities and topics You should understand modern SEO rather than simply repeating an exact-match keyword throughout a page. 8. CONVERSION RATE OPTIMIZATION Ranking is only valuable if traffic converts. You should understand Conversion Rate Optimization, also known as CRO, for local service websites. You should be able to evaluate: ABOVE THE FOLD Does the visitor immediately understand: • Who the company is? • What service is offered? • Where the company operates? • Why they should trust the company? • What they should do next? CALLS TO ACTION Examples: • Call Now • Request a Free Quote • Get Moving Estimate • Schedule Service • Book Now • Request Pricing TRUST SIGNALS You should know how to use: • Customer reviews • Ratings • Testimonials • Years in business • Completed jobs • Licensing • Insurance • Guarantees • Certifications • Associations • Local experience • Real photos • Team information FORMS You should evaluate: • Form length • Required fields • Mobile usability • Placement • Friction • CTA wording • Confirmation process The goal is: Visitor → Trust → Action → Lead 9. WORDPRESS AND ELEMENTOR Experience with WordPress is required or strongly preferred. Elementor experience is a major plus. You should ideally be able to make basic content and SEO changes yourself, including: • Editing pages • Creating new pages • Formatting content • Updating headings • Adding internal links • Adding images • Updating metadata • Adding CTAs • Editing Elementor sections • Updating forms • Publishing blog posts • Basic mobile adjustments Advanced web development is NOT required. We have development resources available for advanced technical work. However, we prefer someone who does not need a developer to change every heading or internal link. 10. SCHEMA AND STRUCTURED DATA You should understand the purpose of structured data. Experience with the following is preferred: • LocalBusiness schema • Organization schema • Service schema • Breadcrumb schema • FAQ structured data where eligible and appropriate • Article schema • Review-related structured data rules • JSON-LD You don't necessarily need to manually code complex schema. However, you should understand what structured data is appropriate and how to verify its implementation. 11. GOOGLE SEARCH CONSOLE You should be comfortable using Google Search Console to identify opportunities. Examples include: • Pages ranking in positions 5 to 15 that may be capable of moving higher • High-impression pages with low CTR • Keywords close to Page 1 • Pages losing rankings • Search-intent mismatches • Keyword cannibalization • Indexing problems • Internal-linking opportunities • Content improvement opportunities Search Console should influence content decisions. We do not want SEO decisions made entirely from third-party tools. 12. COMPETITOR RESEARCH You should be able to examine competitors and answer: Why is this page beating ours? Compare: • Content • Search intent • Page structure • Topical coverage • Internal links • Backlinks • Local relevance • Trust • Reviews • Authority • User experience • Conversion elements • Schema • SERP features We are interested in competitive intelligence, not copying competitors. 13. AI SEARCH, GEO, AND AEO AI-driven search is becoming increasingly important to our strategy. Experience with the following is strongly preferred: • ChatGPT • Google AI Overviews • Google AI Mode • Gemini • Perplexity • Generative Engine Optimization, GEO • Answer Engine Optimization, AEO • Voice and conversational search You should understand concepts such as: • Entity clarity • Brand and entity associations • Structured information • Authoritative citations • Third-party mentions • Question and answer formatting • Semantic relevance • Content authority • Factual consistency • Structured data • Brand trust • Source attribution • Machine-readable content We want content that works for humans first while also being easy for traditional search engines and AI systems to understand. 14. AI-ASSISTED CONTENT PRODUCTION We actively use AI. You should be comfortable with tools such as: • ChatGPT • Claude • Gemini • Perplexity • Other professional AI and content tools AI can be used for: Research → Competitor Analysis → Content Gaps → Outlines → Drafts → FAQs → Metadata → Schema Assistance → Internal-Link Suggestions → Editing However: Publishing raw AI-generated content is NOT acceptable. Every piece of content must be: • Reviewed • Edited • Fact-checked • Brand appropriate • Locally accurate • Useful • Original in value • Written for the actual customer AI should make a good SEO specialist faster. It should not replace professional judgment. 15. CONTENT REFRESHES We do not want to continuously create new pages while ignoring existing assets. You should identify pages that need: • Expanded content • Updated information • Better internal links • Better CTAs • Improved headings • New FAQs • Improved trust signals • Better keyword targeting • Consolidation • Redirects • Repositioning • Removal when appropriate Sometimes improving an existing page is more valuable than creating another one. 16. HOME-SERVICE EXPERIENCE Experience with local and home-service businesses is strongly preferred. Examples include: • Moving companies • HVAC • Plumbing • Roofing • Auto detailing • Cleaning • Electrical • Landscaping • Contractors • Pest control • Restoration • Painting • Other local service businesses Moving-company SEO experience is a major plus. TOOLS Experience with several of the following is preferred: • Google Search Console • GA4 • Google Business Profile • Semrush • Ahrefs • Ubersuggest • Screaming Frog • Google Keyword Planner • PageSpeed Insights • BrightLocal • Local Falcon • WordPress • Elementor • Yoast • Rank Math • Schema validation tools • ChatGPT • Claude • Gemini • Perplexity You do NOT need to know every tool. We care much more about your ability to interpret information and make good SEO decisions. WHAT WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR Please do not apply if your SEO process is primarily: Generate AI article → Add keyword → Add stock photo → Publish → Repeat We are also NOT looking for someone whose strategy consists of publishing hundreds of nearly identical city pages. We want someone who understands: Research → Strategy → Architecture → Content → Optimization → Conversion → Measurement → Improvement REQUIRED APPLICATION QUESTIONS Please answer ALL questions. 1. This can become a long-term position across multiple client accounts. THE PERSON WE WANT The ideal person should be able to open a website and think: What are they already ranking for? What are they close to ranking for? What valuable topics are missing? What pages should be improved instead of replaced? Where are competitors stronger? How should these pages connect? What will make Google understand this business better? What will make AI systems understand this business better? What will make the customer trust this business? What will make the visitor call or request a quote? Then turn those answers into a prioritized, measurable plan and help execute it. If that describes how you approach SEO, content, and conversion optimization, we want to hear from you.
