Content Writing → Legal Writing (or SEO Writing) Job Description The Samuel Law Firm is a NYC litigation firm that defends businesses sued under the Americans with Disabilities Act (Title III) — both website accessibility claims and physical location/barrier claims. We're looking for a content writer to build a steady, ongoing stream of SEO content for our website (thesamuellawfirm.com), aimed at business owners who have just been served with an ADA lawsuit or demand letter and are searching for a defense attorney. This is not general compliance content. Our audience isn't proactively researching accessibility best practices — they're panicking after being served. Every piece should speak to that moment: "I got sued/received a letter, what do I do now." Ongoing scope 8–12 initial articles to start, then an ongoing monthly cadence (targeting 2–4 pieces/month) as a long-term recurring engagement Mix of: Plaintiff's-counsel-specific pages — e.g. "Served by Mizrahi Kroub? What NY Businesses Need to Know," "Shaked Law Group ADA Lawsuit — Defense Options," similarly for Weitz & Marks, Hanski Partners, Gottlieb & Associates Physical location defense topics — barrier removal/mootness, standing challenges, what a "day one" remediation response looks like Website accessibility defense topics — WCAG basics from a defendant's-risk lens, litigation trends, settlement vs. litigation tradeoffs Process/FAQ content — "I received an ADA demand letter," "What happens after I'm served," "How much does an ADA lawsuit settle for" On-page SEO: keyword targeting, meta titles/descriptions, header structure, internal linking to our practice area and attorney bio pages Content will be attorney-reviewed before publishing (you don't need to be a lawyer, but legal accuracy and a professional, authoritative tone are non-negotiable) Requirements Proven SEO/content writing experience — please share ranking results or traffic data from past work if you have it Legal, insurance, or B2B/professional services writing background strongly preferred Comfortable researching case law/court filings at a layperson-accurate level (we'll provide source material and can flag specific cases/dockets to reference) Native or near-native English, U.S. legal audience tone Able to work from a keyword/topic list we provide, plus suggest your own based on keyword research Nice to have Experience writing for law firms or litigation-adjacent businesses Familiarity with ADA Title III, or willingness to get up to speed quickly Basic on-page SEO tool experience (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Surfer, etc.) Budget Open to either structure — propose what works for you: Per-article flat rate (please quote for ~800–1,200 word articles), or Hourly, with an estimated monthly hour budget once cadence is set This is intended to be an ongoing, long-term relationship, not a one-off batch — we'd rather find one reliable writer we can hand a running topic list to every month than rehire repeatedly. To apply, please include: 2–3 writing samples (legal, SEO, or B2B preferred) Any ranking/traffic results you can share Your rate structure (per-article or hourly) and expected turnaround per piece A one-line pitch on how you'd approach writing for an audience that's scared and just got served, vs. a general compliance audience
