Sales Engineer — Quoting for Electrical, Water and Gas Metering (strong Excel-skills required)
Worldwide
We design and deploy metering and building intelligence systems for commercial and industrial facilities worldwide — electrical, water, and natural gas metering, plus the networking and analytics layer on top. We need someone to own the technical side of our quotes. You do not need submetering experience. We will teach you our equipment ecosystem and our pricing logic. What we can't teach quickly is drawing literacy, real Excel skill, and the drive to figure things out without being walked through them. That's what we're hiring for. WHAT THE WORK LOOKS LIKE A customer comes to us with an objective — "bill 14 tenants accurately," "find out what's driving our peak demand," "track gas usage per production line." You get the building drawings. You work out what has to be measured and where, select the right equipment from our approved list, build the bill of materials, and produce the quote. The goal is a quote that holds up twice: when it hits the customer's purchase order, and again when the installer opens the panel. Day to day: Read single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and building drawing sets to identify measurement points and equipment requirements Select meters, CTs, gateways, and networking components from our approved list Build and price the bill of materials — hardware, labor allowance, commissioning, contingency Produce the customer-facing quote and the internal cost model behind it Flag scope risk early: missing drawings, mislabeled panels, no clear equipment location Join customer and contractor calls as the technical voice You will not run sales calls on your own. An account executive owns the relationship and the commercial conversation. You own whether the technical scope and the number are right. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU Exceptional Excel. This is not "comfortable with spreadsheets." You build structured cost models, use lookups and nested logic without thinking about it, and can pick up someone else's messy workbook and make it clean and repeatable. You read electrical drawings fluently. Line diagrams, single-lines, panel schedules, building plans. You can look at a drawing set and understand how power moves through the building. Fast learner. You'll be given a product catalog, a pricing model, and a set of rules, and you'll be expected to be productive quickly and get better every week. Genuinely motivated. High energy, self-starter, asks good questions instead of waiting for instructions. Fluent spoken and written English. BACKGROUNDS THAT FIT We're not attached to a job title.
