Summary

We are looking for a **professional and experienced 3D Mesh Artist** to create high-quality, detailed fashion assets for **Second Life**. This is intended to become an **ongoing/full-time freelance position** for the right artist. I am looking for someone who can consistently produce **premium, commercially usable mesh** with strong attention to construction, realism, and optimization. **Professionals only.** ## What You'll Create Primarily fashion items, including: * Tops, bottoms, dresses, jackets, bodysuits, lingerie, and other apparel * Shoes and fashion accessories when needed * Detailed branding elements such as **woven labels, patches, embossed/debossed details, and hardware** * Clothing with realistic **folds, wrinkles, seams, stitching, hems, paneling, and fabric construction** I will provide **reference images and the required Second Life body/mannequin files**. ## Mesh Quality Requirements Models must be created specifically with **Second Life compatibility and optimization in mind**. You should be experienced with: * Clean, professional **retopology** * Efficient topology and sensible triangle/vertex counts * Creating detailed models without unnecessarily dense geometry * High-poly → optimized low-poly workflows when appropriate * Baking high-poly details into optimized game-ready assets * Proper UV unwrapping with clean, organized UV layouts * Avoiding unnecessary hidden/internal geometry * Creating thin, properly constructed garments rather than excessively thick clothing * Maintaining clean silhouettes while optimizing topology * Preparing individual clothing pieces so they can be uploaded separately when required * Creating mesh that can successfully be uploaded and used within Second Life **Detail is extremely important.** Optimization should not mean making the clothing look basic or low quality. ## Texturing / Software Experience Strong experience with the following is highly preferred: **Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Marvelous Designer, CLO3D, Substance Painter, and/or Photoshop.** Artists capable of providing professional texture work should understand workflows involving: * Base Color / Diffuse * Normal Maps * Ambient Occlusion * Roughness / material information * Baked details from high-poly models Final deliverables may include **FBX, OBJ, and DAE/Collada**, depending on the project. ## Second Life Experience **Previous Second Life experience is strongly preferred.** You should understand that these models are not simply being rendered—they are being created as **commercial products that must function properly inside Second Life**. If you have not previously worked with Second Life, you must be comfortable following strict technical requirements and testing your work against the provided body/mannequin files. ## Turnaround & Communication I am looking for someone who is: * **FAST and reliable** * Available for consistent/ongoing projects * Able to follow reference images accurately * Detail-oriented * Organized with project files * Responsive to revisions * Capable of maintaining consistent quality across multiple releases * Able to meet agreed deadlines **Discord is REQUIRED** for communication, references, revisions, file organization, and project updates. ## To Apply Please send: 1. Your **portfolio** showing your strongest clothing/fashion modeling work. 2. Examples of **wireframes/topology** if available. 3. Examples of textured/final models. 4. Any previous **Second Life** work. 5. Software you use. 6. Your typical turnaround time per clothing item. 7. Your availability for ongoing work. 8. Confirmation that you use **Discord**. Please **do not apply if you are a beginner or cannot provide examples of professional-quality work.** ### Long-Term Opportunity This is not intended to be a one-time project. I am looking to establish a relationship with a **dependable professional mesher** who can handle frequent clothing designs and become a regular part of my production workflow. **Quality + Accuracy + Fast Turnaround + Communication are the priorities.**
