Seeking Business & Employment Attorney (California)

We are seeking an experienced attorney to advise us as we build a legally compliant and scalable tutoring business. Scope of Work Advise on employee vs. independent contractor (1099/W-2) classification, particularly under California law. Recommend the most appropriate business structure (LLC, S-Corp, etc.). Draft and review tutor agreements, independent contractor agreements, employment agreements, and client service contracts. Advise on intellectual property protection for curriculum, educational materials, and branding. Provide guidance on trademarks for our company name and logo. Review cancellation, refund, confidentiality, and privacy policies. Advise on insurance, liability, and risk management. Counsel us on compliance with California and federal employment laws as we expand nationally. Qualifications Licensed attorney in California. Experience advising small businesses or startups. Strong background in employment law and independent contractor classification. Experience with education businesses is highly preferred. Knowledge of intellectual property and trademark law is a plus.
