Summary

Job Overview Mila – Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute is seeking a Senior Advisor – Academic & Grant Reporting (Asia) on a Part-Time (10% capacity / ~4 hours/week), temporary contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing grant compliance, tracking research milestones, and managing financial and deliverable obligations for academic and government funding bodies across Asia. Key Responsibilities Grant Compliance & Reporting: Manage grant compliance and reporting requirements for various Asian academic and government funding sources (e.g., METI, AIST, RIKEN). Milestone & Obligation Tracking: Systematically track research milestones, financial obligations, and deliverable schedules to ensure full alignment with funding terms. Stakeholder & Partner Relations: Oversee and coordinate partner reporting requirements across partner organizations and institutions in Asia. Compliance Maintenance: Ensure documentation meets institutional and governmental standards for external audits and reviews. Qualifications & Skills Grant Management Experience: Demonstrated background in research administration, grant management, compliance, or reporting within academic, government, or non-profit sectors. Regional Knowledge: Proven familiarity with funding ecosystems in Asia; direct experience working with Japanese agencies/institutions (METI, AIST, RIKEN, etc.) is strongly preferred. Project & Financial Tracking: Outstanding organizational skills with acute attention to detail regarding research timelines and budget compliance. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Japanese or other Asian languages is a major advantage.
