# Senior Brand-Film Editor / Post-Production Producer Needed for Manufacturing Video ## Project Overview [PBC Linear](https://www.pbclinear.com) is a U.S.-based manufacturer of precision linear-motion products, components, and automation solutions. We are seeking an experienced senior editor, post-production producer, or small post-production studio to create a compelling company film from an extensive library of existing factory B-roll. The footage has already been captured and includes: - Exterior aerial and drone footage - Several hundred interior factory clips - Footage of every major machine, process, and production area - General facility, manufacturing, and operational B-roll The footage was captured without a formal script, shot list, or storyboard. We therefore need someone who can do considerably more than assemble clips. The right person must be able to review the material, identify the strongest themes, discover the story within the footage, and develop the creative structure from the ground up. Our primary goal is a polished, cinematic company-overview film approximately 5–15 minutes long. That master film will then serve as the source for multiple shorter, platform-native versions for Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, and similar channels. ## Existing Work and Creative References Our [YouTube channel](https://www.youtube.com/user/pbclinear) provides background on our company, products, and previous video style. The following older videos are particularly relevant examples of the general type of company and manufacturing storytelling we have in mind: - [Reference Video 1](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNI0GWwQUb0) - [Reference Video 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oX8zqtHTXag&t=507s) - [Reference Video 3](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dw84NBOKHic) These are references, not templates. We are looking for a fresh, contemporary interpretation using our new footage—not a recreation of the older edits. ## What We Will Provide - All original footage - A basic footage log identifying machines, departments, and factory areas - Company logos and other brand assets - Brand guidelines - Background information about the company, products, processes, and differentiators - Several background-music options for which we already hold usage rights - Access to an owner or another PBC Linear manager for discovery interviews and factual questions - A primary contact for milestone reviews and approvals We can answer questions, explain what is happening in the footage, and provide factual or technical context. However, we will not be supplying a finished script, storyboard, narrative structure, or clip-by-clip editing instructions. We want to remain relatively hands-off and are looking for someone who can take creative ownership of the post-production process, exercise sound editorial judgment, and present well-developed recommendations for our review. ## Scope of Work The selected editor or team will be expected to handle: - Footage ingestion, organization, logging, and selects - Creative discovery and development of the narrative arc - One or more discovery interviews with PBC Linear management - Treatment, paper edit, storyboard, or editorial outline - Scriptwriting for voiceover, on-screen copy, or both - Voiceover casting, recording, and direction if voiceover is recommended - Editorial assembly and picture editing - Motion graphics, titles, lower thirds, and branded transitions - Sound design, factory ambience, audio editing, and final mixing - Evaluation and integration of our existing licensed music options - Selection and licensing of additional music only if warranted and approved - Color correction and final color grade - Licensed stock footage or supplemental assets if genuinely necessary and approved - Captions and accessibility-ready text files - Review rounds and final mastering - Creation of derivative short-form edits from the approved long-form master ## Short-Form Editing Approach The short-form deliverables should be derived primarily from the completed long-form film. We are not asking for an entirely separate series to be conceived and edited from scratch. Most of the selected footage, story content, and creative treatment should come from the long-form master. However, each short-form version should still be thoughtfully adapted for its intended platform. This may include: - Selecting the strongest self-contained sections - Reordering or tightening portions of the edit - Creating a stronger opening hook - Making selective shot substitutions where necessary - Reframing footage carefully for vertical presentation - Adjusting graphics and typography for mobile viewing - Adding platform-appropriate captions - Modifying pacing, music edits, or calls to action We do not want the long-form film simply run through an automatic crop or mechanically chopped into arbitrary segments. The editor should preserve the substance and production value of the master while making limited, purposeful changes that help each derivative edit work in its new format. ## Expected Deliverables Please recommend an appropriate deliverable package and include it in your proposal. At minimum, we anticipate: 1. One finished 5–15 minute company-overview film in 16:9 2. One trailer or condensed company overview 3. Multiple derivative short-form edits in 9:16 4. Captioned and clean versions where appropriate 5. High-resolution masters and web-ready exports 6. Caption files such as SRT 7. Editable project files and an organized project archive 8. Documentation of music, voiceover, stock, and other third-party licenses 9. Appropriate commercial usage rights for all incorporated creative assets Please propose the number and approximate duration of short-form edits you believe can be developed effectively from the long-form film. ## Creative Direction We want the finished work to feel: - Cinematic and visually impressive - Authentic to American manufacturing - Technically credible without becoming dry - Modern, energetic, and human - Appropriate for customers, engineers, prospective employees, and business partners We are not looking for a generic corporate slideshow or a simple factory montage. The finished film should communicate a clear story about who PBC Linear is, what we make, how we work, and why that matters. ## Ideal Experience Strong candidates will have demonstrated experience in several of the following areas: - Manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or technology films - Brand documentaries and company-overview videos - Story development from unscripted or loosely documented B-roll - Long-form and short-form editorial - Voiceover-driven storytelling - Motion graphics and branded animation - Sound design and cinematic finishing - Managing large footage libraries - Leading projects with limited client supervision Individual senior editors and small post-production studios are both welcome. ## To Apply Please include: 1. Two or three highly relevant portfolio examples, preferably involving manufacturing, engineering, industrial processes, or B-roll-led storytelling 2. A brief explanation of how you would discover and develop a cohesive narrative from unscripted factory footage 3. Which services you perform directly and which, if any, you subcontract 4. Your proposed workflow, milestones, and review process 5. Your estimated schedule 6. A fixed-price estimate, preliminary range, or clearly defined pricing structure 7. The number of long-form and short-form deliverables included 8. The number of revision rounds included 9. Your process for licensing voice talent, music, stock footage, and other third-party assets 10. Confirmation that editable project files will be transferred at completion 11. Any footage specifications or technical information you need before confirming a final bid Please begin your proposal with the words “Factory Story” so we know you reviewed the full brief. (Please include this right at the start of your reply) We understand that this is neither a simple nor a conventional editing assignment. It involves ambiguity, a large volume of material, and substantial creative judgment. That challenge is intentional, but it also means this project will not be the right fit for every editor on this platform. If you require a finished script, complete storyboard, or exact instructions identifying which clip to place at each point in the timeline, please do not apply. We genuinely want the selected professional to succeed, and success in this assignment will require comfort with complexity, confidence in making editorial decisions, and the ability to transform loosely structured material into a clear and engaging story. For the right creative partner, we believe this is an unusual opportunity to turn a rich body of manufacturing footage into an exceptional brand film.
