Senior Elasticsearch Engineer – U.S.P.S | Active Security Clearance Required

We are seeking a Senior Elasticsearch Engineer / Consultant to support U.S. public-sector and government services projects involving secure, enterprise-scale Search, Security, and Observability environments. This is a customer-facing consulting role supporting government and public-sector environments. The consultant will work with technical stakeholders to design, deploy, secure, optimize, and troubleshoot Elasticsearch and Elastic Stack environments in accordance with enterprise and government security requirements. U.S.-based candidates only. Active security clearance is strongly preferred and may be required for certain projects. Role Overview You will support public-sector clients with complex Elastic implementations, including architecture, deployment, data ingestion, search optimization, observability, security, and production troubleshooting. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on Elastic experience, experience working in regulated or government environments, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Required Experience 7+ years of hands-on experience with Elasticsearch / Elastic Stack Proven experience designing, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting Elasticsearch clusters in enterprise production environments Strong experience with: Elasticsearch Kibana Logstash Beats Elastic Agent Experience supporting Search and Observability use cases Strong knowledge of index design, mappings, analyzers, shards, replicas, and query optimization Experience designing and troubleshooting data ingestion pipelines using technologies such as: Kafka Filebeat Logstash Elastic Agent Experience with Elasticsearch security features, including: RBAC TLS SSO API keys Authentication and authorization Strong understanding of performance tuning, capacity planning, scaling, and cluster health Experience making architecture and technology recommendations based on client and mission requirements Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills Familiarity with Git, JIRA, CI/CD, and DevOps practices Ability to document technical solutions and communicate recommendations clearly Public-Sector / Security Requirements Experience working on U.S. government, federal, state, local, defense, intelligence, or other regulated public-sector projects is highly preferred. Candidates with an active U.S. government security clearance are strongly preferred. Depending on the project, additional clearance or suitability requirements may apply. Candidates should be prepared to provide appropriate documentation regarding their U.S. work authorization and clearance status during the hiring process.
