Senior Electrical Engineer/Motor Drive Expert for Technical Candidate Interviews

About the project: Atma Robotics is a startup developing integrated electronics for high-performance robotics applications. Our work includes BLDC motor drives, embedded control systems, sensing, communications, and high-voltage/current power distribution. We are currently hiring an Electrical Engineer to take significant ownership of our actuator electronics and have several candidates progressing into deeper technical interviews. We are looking for an experienced senior electrical engineer or consultant who can help us evaluate these candidates from a technical perspective. What You Would Do: - Conduct approximately 60-minute technical interviews with shortlisted electrical engineering candidates - Probe candidates on projects they personally designed and determine their actual level of technical ownership - Provide a brief assessment and hiring recommendation after each interview The candidates being interviewed should be evaluated based on their actual hands-on experience and technical depth in areas such as: - PCB architecture, schematic design, and layout - Board bring-up and debugging - BLDC/PMSM motor-drive electronics - Three-phase MOSFET power stages and gate drivers - Current sensing and FOC-related hardware - 24–60 V power electronics - CAN and distributed embedded systems - Power distribution, inrush, transient protection, regenerative behavior, and fault handling - Embedded MCU hardware such as STM32/ARM - Low-voltage power conversion and sensor circuitry - Basic embedded firmware and hardware/firmware integration - USB/USB-C, CAN, and peripheral interfaces - Wiring architecture, connector selection, and daisy-chained robotic systems - EMI/EMC, thermal design, reliability, and design for production Ideal Background: We are especially interested in engineers who have personally designed and brought up motor controllers, servo drives, ESCs, robotics electronics, industrial motor drives, or similar power-electronics products. Previous interviewing experience is helpful but not required. We care much more about deep hands-on engineering experience and your ability to determine whether another engineer can independently design and debug these systems. Strong candidates for this interviewing role should have substantial hands-on experience across a similar technical scope to the engineer we are hiring.
