Senior Full-Stack Developer Needed to Audit, Debug & Support Existing Web App Built with Emergent About the Project I’m the founder of Growing Balanced, a web-based app designed to help parents create more manageable routines, support their children’s emotional and sensory regulation, and build independence at home. I’m an occupational therapist, not a developer, and I built the initial app using Emergent, an AI-powered development platform. I’ve been able to create a fairly extensive working product, but as the app has grown and real users have begun using it, I’m running into intermittent bugs and technical issues that are becoming difficult for me to diagnose on my own. I’m now looking for an experienced senior full-stack developer who can step into the existing codebase, understand how everything has been built, identify potential problems, and help make the app stable and scalable. About the App Growing Balanced includes multiple interconnected features and user types. The app currently includes functionality such as: * Parent and child profiles * Multiple children within a family account * Separate parent and child-facing experiences * Customizable visual schedules and routines * Chores and responsibilities * Stars/reward systems * A rewards store * Sensory and emotional regulation tools * Developmental and play activities * Parent support tools and recommendations * Timers and other interactive tools * Free and premium account functionality * Subscription/payment functionality * User-specific saved information and settings * Different functionality depending on account type and user profile Because there are many different combinations of users, profiles, settings, and actions, some bugs are difficult for me to reproduce. For example, something may work correctly on my account but behave differently for another user depending on their account, profile, previous activity, device, or sequence of actions. What I’m Looking For My first priority is a technical audit of the existing application and codebase. I would like someone who can: * Review and understand the existing codebase created through Emergent * Evaluate the overall architecture and code quality * Identify bugs, fragile areas, and potential causes of intermittent/user-specific issues * Review database interactions and user/profile data handling * Review authentication and account/profile logic * Look for issues with state management, permissions, subscriptions, and user-specific data * Identify security or privacy concerns * Review error handling and logging * Evaluate performance and scalability * Recommend and/or implement better error monitoring so we can see exactly what happened when a user encounters a problem * Test different user journeys and account/profile combinations * Identify technical debt created during the AI-assisted development process * Recommend what should be fixed immediately versus what can wait I am NOT necessarily looking to rebuild the application from scratch. I want someone who can first determine what is working well, what needs improvement, and what needs to be fixed to make the existing product reliable. Initial Project I would like to begin with a limited technical audit rather than an open-ended development contract. After reviewing the application, I would ideally like a clear summary that includes: 1. Critical issues that need immediate attention 2. Bugs or architecture issues likely contributing to current problems 3. Security/privacy concerns 4. Performance or scalability concerns 5. Recommended improvements 6. Estimated development time for the recommended fixes 7. Longer-term recommendations for maintaining the application If we are a good fit, I would love for this to turn into an ongoing hourly/as-needed relationship where I have a trusted senior developer who understands the application and can help troubleshoot issues, review new features, and make technical improvements as the business grows. Important I want to be upfront: I built this application myself using Emergent despite having no coding background. The app works and has real users, but I have reached the point where I don’t feel comfortable relying entirely on my own ability to troubleshoot the technical side of the product.
