Senior 3D Graphics & Computational Geometry Engineer for Medical Planning Software

We are looking for an experienced 3D Graphics and Computational Geometry Engineer to work on an advanced desktop application involving medical imaging, 3D visualization, mesh processing, planning workflows, and CAD-style tools. The project already has an existing codebase and several working modules. The selected engineer will review the current implementation, improve existing functionality, develop new tools, resolve technical issues, optimize performance, and ensure reliable integration across the complete application. The work will involve interactive 3D visualization, medical imaging datasets, 3D surface models, STL, PLY, DICOM and CBCT files, mesh selection and separation, cutting, merging, repair, solidification, surface offsets, thickness generation, undercut detection, blocking, object placement, alignment, transformations, registration workflows, coordinate consistency, and performance optimization for large datasets. We are looking for someone with strong experience in professional 3D desktop applications, computational geometry, mesh-processing algorithms, viewport interaction, object manipulation, boolean operations, remeshing, smoothing, decimation, watertight geometry, surface offsets, collision checks, geometry validation, debugging, and extending an existing complex codebase. Experience with medical or dental planning software, surgical-guide design, medical imaging viewers, CAD/CAM applications, 3D scanning, metrology, implant-planning systems, radiology, anatomical visualization, mesh-editing tools, or manufacturing software will be highly preferred. The project will be divided into clearly defined milestones with specific deliverables, testing requirements, review stages, and acceptance criteria. The selected engineer will first review the existing application and codebase, understand the current architecture, identify technical risks, and recommend the best implementation approach before full development begins.
