Senior Java Backend Developer (Insurance | SOAP/REST | Spring | Remote | German-speaking)

We are looking for an experienced Senior/Principal Java Backend Developer to join a long-term project in the insurance sector. The project involves the development and integration of a new policy administration system with multiple enterprise systems in a modern Java environment. Project Details 📅 Start: August 2026 ⏳ Duration: Until December 2026 (extension possible) 🕒 Full-time 🌍 100% Remote 🗣️ Client language: German Your Responsibilities - Develop backend functionality using Java SE/EE - Design and implement SOAP and REST web services - Integrate enterprise systems, including: Claims Reinsurance Partner systems Document/Print systems Data Warehouse (DWH) Build technical interfaces and APIs - Write clean, maintainable code following TDD/BDD principles - Collaborate within an Agile development team - Work with modern CI/CD pipelines Must-Have Skills - 5+ years of professional Java Backend development - Strong Java SE/EE experience - Spring Boot - SOAP & REST API development - Enterprise system integration - SQL databases - Experience with TDD and/or BDD - CI/CD experience with: Jenkins Docker Git Maven and/or Gradle - Business-fluent German (minimum B2) Nice-to-Have - Insurance industry experience - Policy Administration Systems - FaktorZehn (IPM, IPS, F10-IOS) - Guidewire or comparable insurance platforms - Data Warehouse integrations - Vaadin To apply please include the following information: - Years of Java Backend experience - Experience with SOAP and REST - Enterprise integration projects you've worked on - Insurance domain experience (if any) - Experience with TDD/BDD - Your German language level - Your availability - Your expected daily or hourly rate If your background includes enterprise Java development and system integrations in the insurance or financial sector, we'd love to hear from you!
