Summary

Senior Accountant with multiple years of hands-on NetSuite experience in a multi-entity environment, joining an established accounting team at an energy industry company. Immediate-start contract, 2–3 months, extension possible. Remote, full-time, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific. Summary Senior Accountant — NetSuite, Multi-Entity Contract (2–3 months, extension possible) · Remote · Full-time, US Pacific hours · Immediate start Bridged Financial Solutions is a fully remote US accounting, tax, and fractional CFO firm. We are staffing a Senior Accountant for a client in the energy industry that runs NetSuite across a multi-entity structure. The client has an established accounting department of roughly eight onshore staff. This role is additional capacity alongside that team — you will be working within their existing close process, standards, and review structure rather than building or running your own. This is a hands-on production seat. You will be in NetSuite every day. Scope The exact task mix is being finalized as we determine which work moves to this role. It will draw from across the close cycle rather than sitting in one corner of the system, so what matters is that you can be handed any core piece of NetSuite. You should have working command of, at minimum: General ledger — journal entries, recurring and memorized entries, accruals, prepaids, allocation schedules Period close — Period Close Checklist, A/P and A/R sub-period locking versus GL close, post-close corrections Accounts payable — vendor bills, bill credits, payment runs, vendor records Accounts receivable — invoicing, customer payments, credit memos, aging and collections Banking and reconciliation — bank feeds and statement imports, account reconciliation, deposits, undeposited funds Multi-subsidiary and consolidation — subsidiary hierarchy, intercompany transactions, eliminations, consolidated reporting Segmentation — subsidiary, class, department, location, and custom segments, and when each should be used Fixed assets — asset records, depreciation schedules, disposals Reporting — standard financials, report customization, and saved searches (criteria, results, and formula fields) System fundamentals — roles and permissions, audit trail and system notes, record hierarchy Beyond the mechanics, we expect you to reconcile what you touch, document your workpapers so they stand on their own, and raise misclassifications, duplicates, and control gaps when you find them rather than booking around them. Requirements Multiple years of hands-on NetSuite experience as a preparer — not a report consumer Genuine multi-entity experience: multiple subsidiaries, intercompany activity, consolidated reporting Strong month-end close and balance sheet reconciliation discipline Advanced Excel at a workpaper-building level — pivots, lookups, clean tie-outs Comfortable working in the Microsoft 365 environment — Teams, Outlook, SharePoint / OneDrive Able to work effectively inside an established team: take direction, follow existing conventions, and communicate status without being chased Written English strong enough to document your own work and escalate an issue clearly Availability for the full US Pacific business day, Monday through Friday Reliable home office: stable high-speed internet, a backup connection and power plan, and a private workspace Nice to have BS Accountancy; CPA or CPA candidate Experience in energy, utilities, power generation, or another capital-intensive industry Project or job costing experience Prior experience supporting a US-based accounting department Details Independent contractor engaged directly by Bridged Financial Solutions Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific Time Initial term of 2–3 months with an immediate start; extension possible Compensation: competitive, depending on experience You provide your own equipment; we provide all software access NDA and background check required before any client data access Three to five sentences on the largest multi-entity NetSuite environment you have worked in — number of subsidiaries, currencies, and what you personally owned in the close Your expected hourly rate (USD) and earliest start date Applications missing #2 will not be reviewed. B. Screening questions Questions 1) What NetSuite role did you hold (Accountant / Controller / Administrator / custom)? Could you post journal entries and close periods yourself? 2) In the largest environment you worked in: how many subsidiaries, how many currencies, and was it NetSuite OneWorld? 3) Can you commit to 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific, Monday through Friday, for the next three months? What other engagements would you be working around? 4) Which of the following have you personally worked in: AP, AR, bank reconciliation, fixed assets, intercompany/eliminations, saved searches? 5) Describe the accounting team you last worked in. How many people, and where did your work go for review? 6) What is your internet speed, and what is your backup for outages? Technical screen 1. "Walk me through your month-end close in NetSuite, day one to sign-off." 2. "How does NetSuite handle intercompany? Take one transaction from origination through elimination." 3. "What's the difference between closing a period and locking a period? What do you do when a correction is needed after close?" 4. "Describe a saved search you built and why a standard report wouldn't do it. 5. "Tell me about a balance sheet account that wouldn't reconcile. How did you find the break?" 6. "How do you decide whether something should be tracked by class, department, location, or a custom segment?" 7. "You're new to a team that already has its own way of doing things, and you think one of their reconciliation schedules is wrong. What do you do?"
