Shopify Developer — Fix Mobile Speed & UX Issues Killing Our Conversion Rate About Us We are a premium lighting ecommerce brand — Japandi, Nordic, alabaster, marble, and travertine designs. ~1,300 SKUs, Shopify platform Google Ads is our main acquisition channel and mobile traffic converts far below desktop. A Google audit has pinpointed exactly why. We need someone to fix it. The Problem Our mobile Core Web Vitals score is in the "Poor" range (28–51). Largest Contentful Paint fails at 3.3s in real-world data (target: under 2.5s) and hits 14–22.3s in lab tests on slower connections. On top of that, mobile usability issues (touch targets, contrast, console errors) are likely causing silent friction and abandoned carts. This is a conversion problem with a concrete technical root cause — not a redesign, a fix. Scope of Work Speed / Core Web Vitals Eliminate render-blocking scripts and stylesheets (~500ms savings identified) Optimize image delivery and set proper cache lifetimes (141+ KiB in savings identified) Remove duplicate, unused, and legacy JavaScript Reduce preconnect usage (currently more than 4 — congesting the network instead of helping) Get LCP under 2.5s on real-world mobile data Mobile UX Fixes Resize/respace touch targets on Add to Cart, navigation, and checkout elements to meet accessibility standards Fix color contrast issues flagged across background/foreground elements Diagnose and resolve browser console errors — check cart drawers, pop-ups, and checkout scripts for silent failures on mobile Deliverables All fixes above implemented and verified on the live theme Before/after Lighthouse and CrUX report showing measurable improvement Brief written summary of root causes and what was changed, for our records Requirements Proven Shopify theme development experience (Liquid, JS, CSS) Track record fixing Core Web Vitals / Lighthouse scores — please share before/after examples Comfortable working directly in production theme code with proper testing before deploy Strong communication — we want clear updates, not just a completed ticket Budget & Timeline Fixed price preferred. Please propose your rate and estimated timeline based on the scope above. We're looking to start within the next 1–2 weeks. Application without an estimate will not be considered. To Apply Share 2–3 examples of Shopify sites where you improved mobile Core Web Vitals scores, with before/after numbers. Generic UX/dev portfolios without performance data won't be considered.
