Shopify Developer Needed to Build Custom Photo Strip Creator / Photo Booth Experience

We are an e-commerce brand specialising in frames for photobooth strips and small-format photographs, and we’re looking to expand our offering by allowing customers to create and purchase their own custom printed photobooth strips directly through our Shopify store. We’re looking for an experienced developer to help us build the front-end experience and Shopify integration. What We Want to Build We want to create an interactive experience similar in simplicity and feel to mysketchbooth.com, but designed specifically for our e-commerce store. A customer should be able to: * Upload their own photographs from mobile or desktop * Add multiple images to create a traditional photobooth-style strip * Crop/reposition each image within the photo slots * Preview the completed strip in real time * Potentially choose between simple options such as colour / black & white and different strip styles * Add the finished personalised strip to their Shopify cart * Complete their purchase through our normal Shopify checkout The custom design created by the customer must then be linked to their Shopify order, so that we can access the exact finished artwork/images required to manufacture and fulfil their order. Key Requirements The finished system should include: Photo Strip Builder A clean, intuitive interface that works particularly well on mobile. Customers need to be able to upload images and easily arrange/crop them into a predefined photobooth-strip layout. We would ideally like the editing experience to feel fast and simple rather than like complicated photo-editing software. Live Preview The customer should see an accurate preview of the finished photo strip as they create it. Print-Ready Output The system needs to generate a high-resolution, print-ready version of the completed photo strip at our required physical dimensions and aspect ratio. The production file should be separate from, or higher resolution than, the normal web preview where necessary. Image resolution and print quality checks would also be useful so customers cannot accidentally submit extremely low-quality images. Shopify Integration The personalised product needs to work with our existing Shopify store. When the customer adds their strip to cart and purchases it, we need to be able to identify and retrieve the exact custom artwork associated with that order from the Shopify admin / fulfilment workflow. We do not want customers to have to leave our website and complete their purchase elsewhere. File Storage / Order Management Uploaded customer images and generated print files will need to be securely stored and associated with the correct Shopify order. We’re open to recommendations on the best architecture for this. Nice-to-Have Features Depending on complexity and budget, we may also want to include: * Black & white / colour filters * Basic vintage photobooth effects * Different strip layouts/templates * Ability to replace individual photos * Drag/reposition and zoom controls * Automatic image quality warnings * Saved customer designs * Ability to reorder a previous strip * Admin interface for accessing/downloading production files * Automated transfer of production files into our printing/fulfilment workflow What We’re Looking For We’re particularly interested in developers who have experience with one or more of the following: * Shopify development * Shopify Storefront / Admin APIs * Custom Shopify product personalisation * React, Next.js or similar modern frontend frameworks * HTML Canvas / image manipulation * Image upload and cropping systems * Server-side image generation * Cloud image/file storage * Generating print-ready artwork * Building mobile-first web applications Experience building product customisers, print-on-demand editors, photo upload tools, canvas editors, personalised product builders or similar applications would be a major advantage.
