About Us Born To Roam is a luxury statement hat brand based in Los Angeles, featured on Oprah's Favorite Things 2024. We design premium headwear for people who were never meant to blend in. Our brand is growing fast, and our Shopify storefront needs to keep pace with the quality of our product. The Role We are hiring an experienced Shopify developer for a part-time, ongoing engagement of up to 20 hours per week. You will own the technical side of our storefront: building, customizing, and maintaining the code and content infrastructure that powers our store. Responsibilities include: Customizing and maintaining our Shopify theme using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Building and modifying custom sections, templates, and landing pages Developing and updating product pages, collection pages, and campaign pages Implementing promotional banners, homepage updates, and seasonal storefront changes Managing app integrations and troubleshooting conflicts (Klaviyo, Gorgias, Loop Returns, AfterShip) Optimizing site speed, mobile responsiveness, and Core Web Vitals Implementing on-page SEO structure: metadata, schema markup, heading hierarchy, alt text Managing product catalog structure, including variants, tags, metafields, and collections Supporting marketing launches, restocks, and campaigns with timely storefront updates Our Stack Shopify (Online Store 2.0), Klaviyo, Gorgias, Loop Returns, AfterShip. Deep Shopify development expertise is required. Experience integrating or troubleshooting these apps is a strong plus. Requirements 5 to 10 years of ecommerce experience with hands-on Shopify development Strong command of Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Experience with Shopify Online Store 2.0 themes, sections, and metafields A portfolio of Shopify stores you have built, customized, or maintained Working knowledge of on-page SEO and site performance optimization Excellent written English and clear asynchronous communication Comfortable working independently with reliable turnaround times Available up to 20 hours per week What Success Looks Like Within the first 90 days, our theme is clean and fast, our seasonal pages launch on schedule without agency help, and storefront changes that used to take days happen in hours.
