The Role We run a high-SKU B2B Shopify Plus store (tens of thousands of industrial parts across major brands) and need a hands-on Shopify developer to own the technical build work end-to-end. This is an execution role: you build, test, verify, and ship. We already have strategy and design — we need someone who reliably turns it into working, production-ready pages and pipelines. You'll work through a Git-based theme workflow (no direct-to-production edits), take tasks through Asana, and communicate daily in Slack with overlap during US Eastern hours. What You'll Do Build designed pages. Take page designs we've already created (Unbounce and other mockups) and build them as clean, responsive, fast-loading Shopify templates and sections. Pixel-accurate, mobile-first, and reusable. Technical SEO. Own the technical SEO of a large catalog — hreflang and canonical correctness across international storefronts (Shopify Markets), redirects and broken-URL cleanup at scale, schema/structured data, crawl and indexing issues, and hands-on work in Google Search Console to verify fixes. Solve at the template level so fixes scale across thousands of part-number pages, not one URL at a time. Product feeds. Set up and maintain product data feeds — Google Merchant Center / Shopping feeds and supplier/marketplace feeds — keeping attributes, pricing, inventory, and identifiers accurate so feeds stay approved and in sync. Bulk data & Matrixify. Run large-scale catalog imports/updates with Matrixify — bulk product edits, metafields, redirects, and structured data. Comfortable building repeatable export/transform/import workflows rather than one-off manual edits. Python for scraping, normalization, and supplier-data processing is a strong plus. Programmatic pages. Build and maintain templates for our programmatic SEO pages — thousands of pages generated from structured part-number data (including cross-reference / substitute-part pages), using metaobjects/metafields. Tracking & integrations. Set up and maintain GTM/GA4 tags, third-party apps, connectors, and checkout/quote-flow integrations. You're a Strong Fit If You Have Solid Shopify theme development: Liquid, JavaScript, CSS, sections/blocks, metafields/metaobjects Git-based deployment workflow (branch, test on a dev theme, deploy) Real technical-SEO experience on large catalogs (hreflang, redirects, schema, GSC) Hands-on Matrixify experience and comfort with large CSV/bulk operations Product feed / Merchant Center experience Page-speed and mobile-rendering optimization Clear written communication and a track record of taking tasks all the way to done Nice to Have Python for data pipelines / scraping / normalization Experience with high-SKU industrial, electronics, or parts catalogs Shopify Markets / international storefront experience Logistics Long-term, ~20–30 hrs/week to start, with overlap during US Eastern hours Slack for communication, Asana for task tracking We start with a paid 30-day trial focused on execution, communication, and on-time delivery Individual contractors only — not an agency.
