## 🚀 Expert Developer Needed: Automated Honey's Place API Integration Specialist for Shopify Job Type: Contract / Milestone-Based Budget: Open to Fixed-Price Bids based on Milestones Category: Backend Development, E-commerce Integration, Custom API & Middleware Pipeline ## 📌 Project Overview I am seeking a senior backend/e-commerce developer to build a fully automated, two-way integration pipeline between my Shopify store and my Honey’s Place wholesale dropship account. 🔴 CRITICAL MANDATORY REQUISITE: You MUST have built this exact integration between Honey's Place and Shopify before. Do not apply if you have not worked with the Honey's Place catalog data structures, ordering endpoints, or FTP manifests. I will ask for proof/explanation of your previous Honey's Place deployment during the screening interview. The backend file architecture of Honey's Place is entirely flat, and out-of-the-box middleman apps do not group their products cleanly. I require a custom programmatic middleware solution (Python or Node.js) hosted on a lightweight server to handle this catalog seamlessly without ongoing high subscription fees. ------------------------------ ## 🛠️ Technical Scope of Work## 1. Catalog Retrieval & Smart Variant Grouping (Inbound Pipeline) * Daily Automation: Automate a daily fetch of the raw flat product CSV/XML dataset via the Honey's Place FTP/URL manifest using a server cron job. * Uniform Variant Looping: The vendor file is flat (every color/size option is a separate row). You must build a script utilizing string tokenization/Regex matching to strip color text descriptors (e.g., merging AL-283BL, AL-283PK, and AL-283PUR down to a mutual parent product handle AL-283). * Option Mapping: Map data from the Color and Size CSV columns into unified multi-option Shopify parent product drops linked perfectly to their corresponding sub-SKUs. * Silent Ingestion (Draft Laws): Force the Shopify API payload to import all brand-new catalog updates as status: "draft" so they remain hidden from front-end checkouts until manually verified. * Field Locking: On daily inventory loops, the script must strictly overwrite price and qty_avail fields only. Custom store titles, tags, and edited SEO descriptions must be completely protected from being overwritten. * Tiered Pricing Matrix: Calculate Shopify retail prices dynamically by extracting wholesale_price and passing it through a multi-tiered margin function directly in your code to completely avoid app middleman markups. ## 2. Automated Order Syncing & Wholesale Checkout (Outbound Pipeline) * Webhook Capture: Listen for active orders/paid webhooks via the Shopify Admin API. * Item Filtering: Programmatically isolate line items containing Honey's Place SKUs while disregarding outside vendor products. * Automated Purchase Routing: Package customer details (Name, Shipping Address, SKU, Quantities) and automatically push the order payload directly into the Honey’s Place Ordering API using my stored wholesale merchant credit terms. * Accidental Billing Guard: Implement explicit transaction logic locks to guarantee that a single Shopify Order ID can never be double-submitted to the wholesale floor. ## 3. Real-Time Shipping Options & Tracking Sync (Fulfillment Loop) * Dynamic Checkout Rates: Integrate with the Shopify Carrier Service API. During checkout, your script must instantly query Honey's Place with package weights and destination parameters, pull their live shipping carrier rate, append a custom handling fee buffer, and present it natively to the checkout client. * Tracking Scraping: Query the Honey's Place Shipment API or FTP manifest every 2 hours for newly generated shipping carrier numbers. * Shopify Tracking Push: Instantly update the Shopify order to "Fulfilled," inject the correct tracking number string, name the precise carrier (USPS, FedEx, UPS), and automatically trigger Shopify's native notification email dispatch to the end customer. ## 4. Error Cascading & Logging * If the dataset schema suddenly alters, FTP connection timeouts trigger, or order payloads fail (e.g., mid-day warehouse stockouts), the script must gracefully pause only the affected order, tag it in Shopify as HoneysPlace-Failed, and send an urgent automated email diagnostic logs directly to the administrator. ------------------------------ ## 🎯 Application Requirement (How to Apply) To be considered, your proposal must answer the following: 1. Briefly outline when you completed your last Honey's Place + Shopify integration. 2. What algorithm approach did you write into your script to accurately strip the color/size suffix blocks from Honey's Place SKUs without breaking single-variant items (like AL-4005)?
