Short-Form Video Editor, Reels + Graphics
Worldwide
ABOUT US: Havenroll is a marketing agency serving private Christian schools and other faith-based clients. We help schools reach and enroll families who align with their mission. We also handle video and social media for a handful of churches, nonprofits, and small businesses. YOUR ROLE: You are the production end of our content pipeline. Raw footage and a completed brief come to you, and finished video and graphics go back out. You will not set strategy, decide what gets produced, or run shoots. Your responsibility is execution: correct pacing, clean captions, accurate brand application, and delivery on schedule. The majority of the work is short-form video, primarily reels cut from footage shot by us or our clients. The remainder is still graphics and templated Meta carousels. A note on client mix: most of our current clients are churches, nonprofits, and small businesses. Christian schools are our focus going forward, and school work takes priority in the production queue. Expect the mix to shift over the next year. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Short-form video editing. Cut reels from supplied footage and written briefs. Tight pacing, clean and accurate captions, music synced, and a hook that lands within the first two seconds. Turn around first drafts quickly and handle revisions without friction. 2. Graphic design. Build still graphics and multi-image Meta carousels from templates. Correct alignment, correct dimensions, no errors. 3. Brand consistency. Each client has a documented brand kit covering fonts, colors, logos, and tone. You are expected to work inside it without reminders, and to help maintain and extend our reusable template library. 4. Throughput and communication. Work from our Asana board. Pick up briefs, meet deadlines, post clean first drafts, and act on revision notes as given. Raise unclear briefs or at-risk deadlines the same day you identify them rather than after the deadline passes. This last point carries real weight in how we evaluate performance. SCHEDULE: This role requires full overlap with our business hours. Your working hours must fall entirely within 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM US Eastern Time, Monday through Friday. REQUIREMENTS: - Availability for 30 hours per week, starting immediately - Working hours entirely within 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM US Central, Monday through Friday - Clear, professional written and spoken English - A computer and internet connection capable of sustained video editing - Comfort working in a Christian, faith-based context. You do not need to be religious, but our clients are, and the work centers on their mission - Demonstrated ability to produce consistent volume on deadline without supervision TOOLS: - Asana for briefs, deadlines, and tracking. - Canva for graphics and carousels, since our templates need to remain editable by the whole team. - Google Workspace. - Loom for training and progress updates. - Slack for daily communication. For video, use whichever editor you work best in: Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, or CapCut. We do not require a specific application. DaVinci Resolve is a plus, as is Photoshop, but neither is required. We will train you on Asana and our internal workflows. Editing ability, speed, and reliability matter more to us than familiarity with any particular tool. RATE AND PROGRESSION: Starting rate: $10 to $14 per hour, depending on experience, with an increase to $14 at six months based on performance. The first 30 days is a paid trial period. We train you on our clients, brand kits, and editing standards. By the end of it you should be able to take a brief and footage and deliver a finished, on-brand piece with minimal direction. At day 30 both parties decide whether to continue. After that, you receive a color-coded performance scorecard every one to two weeks. Hours begin at 30 per week and grow toward full-time as we add school clients. HIRING PROCESS: Strong proposals move to a short paid task. You receive real footage from a current client, the actual brief, and that client's brand kit, and produce one reel of 30 to 40 seconds within 48 hours. This pays $25 flat regardless of outcome. We then send one round of revision notes to see how you work with direction. No unpaid test work at any stage. To apply, answer the screening questions and include links to two reels you edited yourself, with one line on each describing your specific contribution. If you worked from someone else's footage or brief, let us know.
