Summary

# Video Producer / Editor — Short In-App Videos + a :75 Explainer for a Life-Story App **We have a finished, locked script.** We are not asking you to invent the creative. We are asking you to shoot it, cut it, and land it. Script, shot plan, brand kit, screen recordings, and a 52-image screenshot pack are all ready and waiting. **This is the first of several.** One project now. If it lands, we expect to commission four or five more over the following months. That follow-on work isn't guaranteed and we're not asking you to price it — but we'd much rather keep one team who understands this audience than run this search five times. --- ## About the product LifeScribe is a life-story app. An older adult taps one button, talks about a memory, and we turn it into a beautifully written chapter — with artwork, read back in a clone of their own voice, shareable with family, and collected into a keepsake Life Book. They can also photograph a handwritten recipe card or diary page and that becomes a chapter too. All of it, plus the family's important documents, lives in an encrypted Family Vault the whole family can open. The app is live and shipping. --- ## What we need made **1. Five in-app videos — about 10 seconds each. This is the priority.** They play at five moments while a brand-new user is inside the app: right after download, at the first "what do I write about" screen, at the choose-your-method screen, at voice setup, and at the share screen. Each one is short, silent-first, and does one job. **2. A :75 explainer** for the website and YouTube. It doubles as the tutorial, so every tap has to be visible and every screen readable. **3. A :45 and a :30 cutdown** for Meta, trimmed from the same footage — not reshoots. All of it comes from **one half-day live-action shoot** plus screen recordings we supply. 9:16 vertical is primary; we also need 1:1 and 16:9. --- ## The two rules that matter most **Payoff before process.** Every video shows the finished result in its first two seconds, then how you get there. Never open on a menu, a logo, or an empty screen. If someone watches only the first two seconds, they should already know what they'd end up with. **The emotional peak is the voice.** A grandchild presses play on a shared chapter and hears her grandmother's actual voice. Music drops to almost nothing. It's the longest-held shot in everything we make, and it's the moment the whole piece is built to reach. If it doesn't land, nothing else matters. --- ## Who this is for — please read this part twice **The audience is 60–78 years old.** They are the buyers and they're the people on screen. This is where most talented editors get it wrong: - **Unhurried.** Voiceover runs about 2.3 words per second. Long holds. The end card sits on screen a full 3 seconds — this audience reads end cards. - **Legible.** Burned-in captions, high contrast, generous size. Assume the sound is off. - **No urgency mechanics.** No countdowns, no FOMO, no streaks, no "before it's too late," no mortality framing. This is a hard rule. Warmth and calm confidence are the brand. - **Real people, real age.** We cast an actual 65–75 storyteller, not someone younger lit to look older. Hands, kitchen tables, grandchildren. - **No stock-y corporate footage.** A second audience is adult children, 40–60, who buy this as a gift for a parent. We want two versions of the social cuts for these two groups — same footage, different opening line and end card. --- ## What we supply - The locked script: scene-by-scene voiceover, visuals, on-screen text, and timing. - A capture and asset list — 15 numbered assets with exact instructions, so you know precisely what footage exists and what you're shooting. - Screen recordings from the live app, plus a 52-image screenshot pack. One consistent family runs through all of them, so nothing changes on screen between cuts. - The cloned voice audio for the playback moment. - Brand kit: logo, palette, fonts, end-card layouts. - A claims sheet listing exactly what we may and may not say on screen. One overclaim means a re-edit, so read it before writing a single caption. ## What we need from you - Casting and directing the on-camera talent (we approve). - Location, crew, lighting and sound for a half-day shoot. - Edit, colour, sound design, music licensing, captions, on-screen text. - Delivery in two tiers: - **Tier 1 — the five in-app videos plus the :30.** This is what we review first. - **Tier 2 — on approval — the :75, the :45,** all aspect ratios, both audience versions, captioned and clean versions, thumbnail frames. --- ## Must-haves - Work with an **older-skewing audience** — healthcare, senior living, financial services, memory/legacy, or family brands. Show us something warm that wasn't condescending. - Comfort **directing non-actors and older performers** to a natural read. - **Sound-off discipline.** Captions and on-screen text have to carry the whole story on their own. - Clean **screen-recording integration** — real interface, no mockups, nothing invented. ## Nice to have - Making document-and-security subject matter feel warm rather than clinical. - Tasteful type and caption animation in-house. - Capacity to keep working with us over the following months. --- ## How to bid 1. **Two or three relevant reels** — ideally one with an older cast, and one that's heavy on screen recordings. 2. **A fixed price**, split into pre-production, shoot day, and post. Price Tier 1 and Tier 2 separately. 3. **Your timeline** from kickoff to first cut to delivery. 4. **What's not included** — music licensing, talent buyouts and usage term, travel, revision rounds. 5. **One short paragraph on approach.** Either: how you'd shoot the grandchild hearing her grandmother's voice, or how you'd make ten seconds teach one thing to a 78-year-old. We want to see how you think about the beat that matters — not a treatment. The full script and asset pack go to shortlisted bidders under NDA. **The question behind every shot:** does this prove it's easy, or prove it lasts? If a frame does neither, it's cut.
