Small Drafting Job - Add Levels & Dimensions to Existing Retaining Wall Elevations
Worldwide
I have a development application with an Australian council that has come back with a request for further information on two points: the extent of earthworks associated with a retaining wall, and the details of a new driveway crossover. I need a drafter to produce amended drawings that answer both. This is a documentation job, not a design or survey job. The levels already exist. They have been measured on site with a laser and are recorded in a SketchUp model (.skp), and there is a surveyed site plan with existing spot levels across the allotment. Your task is to reproduce those measured levels accurately onto drawings, annotated (in layout) to a standard a council planner can assess. You are not being asked to interpolate, estimate, or generate levels, and you should not adjust any level to make a drawing resolve more neatly. Levels - The base plan is a Site & Drainage Plan, 1:200 @ A3. It carries existing spot levels across the site. The site is on a local datum: TBM nail in kerb, RL 100.00, shown on the Street frontage. This is not AHD. Every drawing in the amended set must use this same datum and reference this TBM. Do not convert to AHD. The SketchUp model I'll provide was built from laser height measurements taken on site, tied to that TBM. The vertical geometry in it reflects actual existing ground along the wall alignment - treat it as reliable, not indicative. The step pattern in the wall and plinth encodes the real ground fall. Where the model levels and the survey spot levels describe the same point, cross-check them. and report any discrepancies or concerns with those levels. If the ground falls differently than the model assumes, we will need to make an informed decision from our side. What I'll provide - Site & Drainage Plan (PDF) SketchUp model of the fence and retaining structure, with laser-derived levels The council RFI letter, so you can see the exact wording The location of the common reference point tying the model to the TBM Deliverables 1. Retaining wall elevations - the primary deliverable Covering the wall run subject to this application, including the internal walls either side of the gate opening and the south-western corner of the allotment. Retaining already approved on the other side of the block is out of scope. Natural ground line and proposed finished ground line, drawn as clearly distinguished line types, each labelled RLs annotated at every change in wall height and at each end of every wall run Use the TRW / BRW / RW(CUT) or RW(FILL) convention already established on the site plan - e.g. "TRW 102.50 / BRW 101.85 / RW(CUT) 0.65m" Wall heights dimensioned Cut and fill zones hatched differently with a legend, and the cut/fill crossover point identified 2. Site plan extract keyed to the elevations Partial site plan covering the area subject to this application, with elevation markers showing where each elevation is taken Spot levels annotated along the wall alignment, reproduced from the survey and the model Show retaining walls in true position. 3. Crossover and driveway plan plus longitudinal cross-section New access is proposed from Street. Gradient expressed as a percentage and ratio, with transition grades at the property boundary and at the road Extent of associated earthworks shown Long-section through the driveway centreline showing natural and finished levels, referenced to the same datum The existing plan notes driveway gradient designed to AS 2890.1 - the section needs to demonstrate compliance. Drawing standards A3 sheets, to scale, scale noted with a scale bar Supplied Title block, north point, drawing numbers, revision All levels on the local datum (TBM nail in kerb RL 100.00) Produce a standalone supplementary sheet set that references the original site plan as its base - do not mark up or alter their titled drawing. Deliver as PDF and editable source (.skp & .layout preferred)
