Social Media Design & Posting for Muslim Matchmaking & Community Org

We're looking for a designer and social media freelancer to support a matchmaking and community organization for Muslims, Sufis, and spiritually aligned seekers. You'll create graphics for Instagram/FB and Threads, and help manage posting and light community engagement. This role requires familiarity with Islam, its practices, and its values. Familiarity with Sufism specifically is a strong plus so you can create thoughtful posts and engage with our community in a way that feels genuine and respectful. The goal is to attract more followers to social media and to get more people signed up for our matchmaking services. We'd love someone who has designed for Muslim community organizations, Islamic nonprofits, or Muslim-owned businesses or halal brand before, since cultural fluency and a gentle, respectful tone matter a lot for this work. Our aesthetic is warm and understated rather than flashy or corporate. Please share portfolio samples that reflect that kind of work if you have them. We'll start with small projects, then would love to bring on one reliable person moving forward on a regular basis. Scope: Design social graphics (carousels, announcements, event posts) Schedule and post content, roughly 3-5 posts per week Light comment engagement when needed Occasional design assets for our website Nice-to-haves: Canva and Meta Business Suite experience Comfort with Islamic visual sensibilities and community-appropriate messaging Familiarity with Threads specifically, not just Instagram Basic video/reel editing (CapCut or Instagram's built-in editing tools), for short-form content beyond static graphics
