Somali (so-SO) ↔ English Audio Recording, Transcription & ITN Annotation Project

Summary Description We are looking for native Somali (so-SO) speakers to participate in a speech data collection project involving audio recording and transcription. This project will help improve multilingual AI speech recognition and speech-to-text systems. Participants will record short conversations in Somali and English (code-switching) and complete transcription and annotation tasks according to our project guidelines. Requirements Must be a native Somali (so-SO) speaker. Comfortable speaking both Somali and English naturally in code-switched conversations. Ability to record in a quiet environment with clear pronunciation. Access to a computer or smartphone with a stable internet connection. Audio recordings must be completed at 8 kHz, 16 kHz, or 48 kHz, following the provided specifications. Must accurately read and record the provided scripts. Familiarity with language annotation or transcription is a plus but not required. Training and documentation will be provided. Project Details Recording Task Record pre-provided Somali-English conversational scripts. Recordings will be completed directly in our internal recording platform (no external software required). Format WAV audio recordings. Transcription and annotation completed directly within the project tool. Schedule Flexible working hours with short recording sessions. Confidentiality All recordings, transcripts, and annotations are confidential and will be used solely for internal AI research and development. Payment Terms Payment will be released only after all assigned work, including any required reworks or quality revisions, has been completed and approved according to the project guidelines.
