Sourcing & Logistics Agent - packaging

We are an early-stage company building an oral stimulant brand. We are pre-launch and not naming ourselves publicly yet; we will tell you who we are at first conversation. Our first product ships in a crystalline format inside a small metal puck-style canister (aluminum tin, lift-tab lid). We know roughly what we want. We do not have the relationships, the language, or the time zone overlap to get it sourced at a fair price, produced to spec, and moved to our 3PL without losing weeks to back-and-forth. That is this job. What you will own Sourcing and vetting packaging suppliers for our canister (aluminum tin body, lift-tab or press-fit lid, custom color/print), starting from a reference product we'll share. Negotiating price, MOQ, and lead time directly with the factory - you should know what "fair" looks like at our volume, not just accept the first quote. Managing samples and quality control through iteration, so what we approve is what we actually receive at scale. Coordinating freight from factory to our 3PL, either directly or through your own vetted forwarder relationships. You do not need to personally file customs paperwork, but you own the outcome of the shipment landing on time and intact. Being the single point of contact between us and the supplier, so we are not managing a language or time zone gap ourselves. What we are looking for Demonstrated experience sourcing packaging or components from Chinese manufacturers for a consumer brand, ideally something that shipped and sold. Fluent or near-fluent Mandarin, since most of the relevant tin/canister manufacturers are mainland-based and pricing leverage depends on being able to negotiate directly. Working knowledge of freight basics (air vs. sea, incoterms, typical lead times) even if you're not personally booking the container. Comfort managing a vendor relationship end-to-end without us having to chase updates. What would make you stand out Existing relationships with metal tin/canister manufacturers specifically, rather than general sourcing agencies that touch everything. Experience with cosmetics, supplement, or CPG packaging where print quality and color-matching actually matter. A track record of catching a quality issue before it became our problem. What we will not ask you to do Cut corners on QC to hit a price target. We would rather pay a fair rate and get a canister that matches spec than save money on something that fails at unboxing.
