Specialist – VHS Source, 89-Minute Film

We are looking for an experienced film restoration specialist to restore an approximately 89-minute feature film transferred from VHS. Source 960 × 720 4:3 25 fps Progressive H.264 Approx. 7.2 Mbps BT.709 The source is the best digital copy currently available. The footage has typical VHS/analog issues including noise, softness, color shifts, low contrast, horizontal/white artifacts, occasional image damage and loss of detail. What we need Our priority is true restoration, not simply AI upscaling. We are looking for someone experienced with tools and techniques such as: DaVinci Resolve / Fusion Topaz Video AI After Effects Color restoration Dust / scratch / artifact removal Temporal cleanup Manual or frame-by-frame restoration when necessary The original character of the film must be preserved. Faces should remain natural, with no artificial AI-generated facial details, plastic skin, excessive sharpening or fabricated detail. 4K is not the main goal. Restoration quality and preservation of the original image come first. 30-Second Test We have prepared a 30-second test clip containing both a dark interior scene and brighter exterior footage. Before assigning the complete film, we would like to evaluate a restored version of this sample. If you charge for the test, please include your test price in your proposal.
